I think I am finally going to give this a try for 2011. But I am still trying to decide on a format for my pages/book. I figure the easier the better, just to make sure I stick with it. :tu

So I was wondering, for those of you who have tackled this project -

Any tips to share?
Are you doing it again this year?
If yes, what would you do differently?
If no, why not?
What format did you use for your pages? Did you buy templates? Make your own?
One page a week? or 2? or a page or 2 a month?
Did you blog it?

can't wait to hear what others have to say about this .... i want to do it next year too! but i say that every single year - LOL ...

LOL Dana! Me too. I am so inspired by MandaKay's P365 threads in the photography forum. I'm sure I'll give it another go next year.

I have tried for 3 years in a row now, and I 100% fail by the first 2 weeks of January. LOL. Having to remember to do anything (besides showering & brushing my teeth) EVERY day is just a big stretch for me.

I think as far as format goes, though, Ali Edwards always has some pretty clean, simple formatting for layouts... lets you focus on the photos & the stories rather than all the hoopla! :giggle

I am waiting to hear from Jacque and Amber...their photos on Facebook have been inspiring me all year!

I did it in 2009 and I really really enjoyed it. I took a picture a day of each of the boys. I was wiped out by the end of it which is why I didn't do it this year but I think it's totally worth it.

Any tips to share? For me it was important to remember not to put so much pressure on myself to take a perfect picture everyday. It's the memory that counts.
Are you doing it again this year? Definitely. I miss it alot and can't wait to start back up again.
If yes, what would you do differently? I'm not sure...maybe scrap it this year. I didn't last time.
If no, why not?

One page a week? or 2? or a page or 2 a month? I think this year I am going to try to do one page a week
Did you blog it? yeah, I blogged each picture with a paragraph or so about what was going on. Here's my blog if you want to take a look. www.tandc365.blogspot.com (there are a few pics on there from this year so you will have to jump back to 2009.) I found blogging such a neat thing too because like you we live so far away from our families and this way they were able to look at the pictures each day and get a little piece of the boys day.

I really hope you end up doing it. It's sooo worth it.

So I have been heading up the P365 forum here at the pad, and will do so again this coming year (at least that's my plan)! Here are my answers to your questions!

Any tips to share? I have lots of tips. 1. keep it simple! I only focused on taking a photo a day, and I didn't care if it wasn't a stellar photo. If I took a photo that was good for me. I also didn't really edit any of my photos. Maybe this year I will take on a little more, but if it's your first year I would really suggest keeping it simple just so you can keep up on it! 2. If you use a couple "filler" photos in that one year, don't stress it! 3. It's your project...make it your own!!!
Are you doing it again this year? Yes...I hope to continue
If yes, what would you do differently? Might focus more on the editing...we'll see.
If no, why not?

One page a week? or 2? or a page or 2 a month? So I started out doing my LO's along with my photos - one page per week - seven photos on a page - mostly templates by Gina Miller. I have a little folder that I titled P365 and it houses all of my templatepacks and kits I am using since my album will be cohesive. Problem is, I am only thru week 10 in my pages. But you see I am not stressing because I have the photos all in a special folder, and I posted in the forum here with little descriptions, so at any time I can go back and pick up on my book! Only 42 more weeks to go...YIKES! But again I am not getting myself stressed about it and I am not letting this part of it stop me from taking my photos!!! So that right there is another tip - as long as you keep them somewhere in a spot where you can reference back to don't worry too much about the book - just take the pictures and make the memories!
Did you blog it? Not so much on my blog - mostly in the forum here!

So there you have it - hope that helps you make your decision! I totally completely 100% recommend it! I love looking thru my P365 picture folder and seeing a whole years worth of my favorite photos!

Thanks for the tips girls! I do think I am going to do it, just need to figure out the scrapping/documenting part of things. My goal is to document our everyday lives and to work on my photography skills. I figure this is the perfect project for that.

yay. let's do it girls! i really want to do it too!!! maybe if have a big support group it will keep us going!

I decide to do a little window shopping in the store....

I really like this template set from Val...I think it is exactly what I had in mind. Love that she has 7 different blocks so you can be a little different each month while still maintaining a cohesive album.

That's totally me Rebecca! I'd love to try it again this year, but I don't have high hopes for myself! LOL!

Well I had bought P365 templates from Leora Sanford last year and I LOVED them.. problem was I was running out of time for putting my photos into templates and then putting them into individual photo templates with the date on them to display for my family... I got to July kept taking a photo a day until a few weeks ago hoping to get caught up but the stress of it all was really weighing on me and I just didn't have it in me to keep going. I have all the pages done until July though. I may still print those up. Not sure... I may try again, but I think I need an even simpler way of doing this.. lol! I may try my hand at project 52. Maybe a photo a week would be easier? Who knows... any takers for project 53 templates???

lol

yes, i'm sure i'll try again. i have found though that a month-in-review type layout works much better for me. even if i totally blow it on the p365, i am sure to have at least 10 pics in a month to work with. :giggle

will try again, though. could be cool to have a photo a day... at least once in my life. lol

Yep, I can see how that would get overwhelming. I don't think I am going to blog the photos or post them online, just too time consuming. I will just take the pictures, do the layouts and wait till the book is printed to share.

yep, i tried blogging the photos too last year (for the first week of the year, which was all i actually managed to keep up on). i could tell right away that photo editing & blogging was going to take WAY more time than i wanted to put into it. i'm sorta lazy like that.

I think I´m going to give it a try too this year. After reading this post I got really excited about this project. Especially when I just heard I´m getting a new camera from my in laws this Christmas!! YAY!!! :D Thanks for the tips girlies. :love
