printing pages

Karen, may I ask where you found a 10x10 size? That sounds PERFECT! 12x12 feels so big and is clunky to hold in your hands, 8x8 feels a little too tiny, and while I love 8x10 it's hard to find good templates for it for Project Life layouts. 10x10 is the perfect compromise!

I only print my daily diary, but since it's daily, it's already A LOT. I print once a month on the fifteenth at a local photo company... in A4 size, because for me, that's the best compromise ever- albums AND prints are affordable.

Sorry I'm just seeing this... Shutterfly has the 10x10 size in both hardcover and softcover books now. I really like that size too! If I hadn't already started printing 12x12 I would totally do all my books that size!
 
I also print 8x8. Cheaper albums, cheaper prints. & the smaller size is easier for my kids to handle. I wait for a sale at Persnickety.

Tackle it in bits & pieces so you don't get overwhelmed. :) Maybe by year?
 
well at 75 cents a print it will be $1500. not sure dh would be willing to pay that much. i'm going to have to work on something different i guess.

I was reminded by this thread to get printing! I have a Canon wide format i9000 and do all my printing at home. But it is definitely something you have to do in increments, as it is time-consuming. I don't know what the cost comparison would be to an on line service, but the printer was about $500. If you don't print. 12x12 you could get a smaller printer. I get my ink refills through Staples, which has a rewards program just for ink so there is a small savings there. I like the flexibility of printing at home.
 
Just print a little over time - whatever you can fit in your monthly budget - or save for a couple months and get a bunch of print credits when they go on sale.. You won't get all your prints at once, but eventually you'll catch up, which is better than where you are now with nothing printed.. :)
 
I also started from scratch using PP and their sales. I had to open every layout and decide if I wanted to re-design the old ones before saving as JPG. It's all good although it was time consuming. Now I have lots of printed pages and I don't really know what to do with them. What kind of albums do you use ? My pages are 8x8.

I use D-ring albums so you can insert pages wherever you want. American Crafts, We R Memory Keepers and Bazzill make good 8x8 D-ring albums. I bought mine through Archiver's. The Bazzill ones were blank chipboard which were kind of fun to cover and embellish.
