Prayers & Good thoughts needed --sm update

Sorry to hear this Carilyne! Praying for your dad's healing and stabilization and for you and your family! Caregiving can be so hard. Hoping there will be a sunny spot with your interview! :beat

Well one advantage, it is keeping my mind off the interview! The hardest part is being so far away.
I appreciate everyone's support and prayers. My sister insisted he go to a different hospital than the first time he had problems and they say it's a huge difference. It's the major medical center in the area. He has received great care, already started occupational and speech therapy. He saw a neurologist today (they suspect Parkinson's) and a kidney doctor tomorrow (for the electrolyte imbalance). He has been standing but cannot walk yet. It sounds like they think that walking will come back. He most likely will go to rehab. Anyway no definite answers but he is feeling a lot better. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts.

Carilyne, Hugs! It's so hard to see our parents in that type of situation. It sounds as if it is turning around, and things will work out better than hoped! Keeping up the positive thoughts and hoping your interview goes well too!

Glad things are going okay! My husband had a bad electrolyte imbalance and acute kidney failure a couple of years ago because he'd gotten really dehydrated with the warm weather and not getting enough fluids (he was also sweating buckets working outside in the sun). He collapsed and had to be in the hospital for a couple of days, but once he was re-hydrated, things were better. So hopefully that will be the same with your dad. Hugs to you!!

It's scary what that can do to you. They were taking dad off his water pill and I don't know if he drank too much or if there is a kidney problem. I won't hear until later how he's doing as I have to go to an appointment. Here's the handsome guy
