Potato Lovers

I love potatoes too! All forms pretty much! But, since learning I have just one kidney and now that I get kidney stones too I've had to learn to "leach" them to reduce the potassium in them. It's a little more tedious than I'd like so I don't have them as often now. (And as I write this I'm thinking, "Lazy Cassie, isn't this was our grandmothers did anyway?" But I've grown accustomed to just throwing them in my instant pot or air fryer and forgetting about them!)

Are you a potato lover? Absolutely!!!

What's your favorite??
Baked, mashed, au gratin, scalloped, French fries, tater tots, hashbrowns just to name a few.

A local restaurant has a dish called Mashed Potato Bowl with various flavors. Currently on the menu are Garlic Parmesan Chicken, Baked Steak & Gravy, Chicken & Sweet Corn and Twice Baked Potato Mashed Potato Bowls. I hear they are really good. I really need to go check them out.

From October 2018 to May of 2021, I lived on mashed and baked potatoes. For much of that time, I had no teeth at all so couldn't chew. Potatoes to the rescue along with a few other soft foods. I had to eat stuff that could just slide down my throat.

Want to know my dinner last night... a baked potato during the beginning of the super bowl. Had no idea it was National Potato Day.

I'm an Idaho girl too. We love potatoes at our house. We love tater tots, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, potato casserole, boiled little potatoes, twice baked potatoes, crash potatoes (Ree Drummond's recipe), instant potatoes and steak fries. Probably my personal least favorite potato is hashbrowns made from frozen shredded hashbrowns. My husband always wants to make them when we make a big breakfast and they just are never good. I always let him have my share lol

I love potatoes.

My current favorites are Red Robin fries, mashed potatoes with butter and black pepper, baked potatoes, and potato latkes. I am extra grateful for having family members who like to make proper latkes because I lack the physical endurance to squeeze the grated potatoes (but skipping that step makes the texture weird).

Those potato bowls sound amazing!!

I'm like you...I love them any way I can get them!! I love a good homemade mashed potato, fries, potato soup, just all of it.

Have you guys seen that Courtney Cook on TikTok that eats a whole sweet potato that she stuffs with cheese? I haven't tried it, but that looks interesting. I've never been a huge sweet potato fan, but they are ok and I eat them to get the nutrition. My fave way to cook them is sliced kinda thin, coated with olive oil and a little sea salt and roasted till they are crispy.

Sweet potatoes are the one potato I will not eat. I threw up after eating them as a child so never had any desire to try again!

Potatoes are so versatile! I love mashed potatoes in the Winter, jacket (baked) potatoes all year round, and lovely little new potatoes boiled and served with butter in the Summer. Chips (fries) are probably my least favourite, except of course for fish 'n' chips!

I love Courtney! I'm not a big fan of sweet potatoes either, but your way of roasting them sounds pretty good!

I am grateful to my Jewish friends for introducing me to latkes. Wait, what, you get to eat potato pancakes with sour cream?! I honour you.

I have never entered a room with latkes and been turned away.

Just don't let the applesauce people hear that you're team sour cream ;)

I am not a big fan of regular cooked potatoes or baked ones to be honest but in any other way they are sooo good! I love that they are so versatile!

Are you a potato lover? Duh!
What's your favorite?? I can't think of any way of fixing potatoes that I don't like. I was getting worried that no one had mentioned potato pancakes/latkes so yay to those of us who enjoy taters that way. I'm on Team Sour Cream.

I'm currently having potato withdrawal pangs because my husband has to watch his potassium levels.

I really like Greek style potatoes, and I love potato pancakes/latkes with sour cream, oh so good!

I love mashed, baked or boiled potatoes. I don't like fries (or chips as called here in UK), very rare I eat them.
