potato chips | pad patter 3.15.22

Utz Ripples with "homemade" Lipton Onion Soup dip, or Utz Ripples Sour Cream & Onion.

I also like cheddar cheese chips, kettle cooked and Pringles. Oh Terra Sweet Potato chips are yummy too.

That said, I don't eat a lot of chips and I tend to buy the individual serving multi-packs b/c Chase will scarf down an entire "family size" bag at a setting if that's what is available.

Sour cream and chives are my first choice.
Salt and vinegar are the only flavour I can avoid.
Creamy cheddar is really good and a smoky BBQ also right up there.

Just plain salted, or else salt and vinegar.

When I was expecting my son, I went through a horrible morning sickness phase (well, morning, noon, and night sickness phase, really) where I couldn't eat anything, couldn't keep anything down. For a couple of weeks, all I could eat were salted potato chips. I felt so worried and guilty (I'm supposed to be eating a fresh kale salad, but instead I'm eating a bowl of salted potato chips?!). My son is now a hale and hearty 20-year old, 6 foot 2 inches in height, so, you know, it turned out okay! But even though I still love salted potato chips, I cannot eat them without having flashbacks to that morning-noon-and-night sickness phase.

Sorry you had such horrible morning sickness, but glad the potato chips helped!

Funny you said you buy the individual serving bags so your Chase won't scarf down the family size entire bag... my Chase will just eat a bunch of the individual serving bags.... boys, right! :giggle

An occasional treat . . . (sorry for the huge image)

Same here! Or wavy Lays sometimes, but they tend to grow stale faster. If I could offer a revised version of Pink Floyd's Brick in the Wall...
We don't need no flavored chips now
We don't need no barbeque
No wacky cheese or silly peppers
Bakers, leave them chips alone
Hey! Bakers, leave them chips alone! LOL!!!!

I love chips (esp. kettle) with homemade caramelized onion dip! Some favorite flavors of mine are salt-n-vinegar, sour cream & onion, Hawaiian Sweet Onion and dill pickle.

I like kettle chips and usually go for BBQ first, but I also like regular and salt and vinegar. I like to mix it up. I also really love chips made from sweet potatoes. They are harder to find which is probably a good thing, but I love those! Yummy!

So, I wonder if its the salt mixed with the fizz...sometimes if I'm not feeling well, a bit nauseous maybe due to a migraine, but still feeling hungry (yes, it happens) or simply need to eat but have to go gently because of nausea...having a Diet Coke with Lays brand Classic Chips can help turn tide and get me feeling better. Chips are odd because the greasiness is supposed to do the opposite (be bad for an upset stomach). But something about the combo actually helps me.

When it comes to chips just to eat for pleasure, I have a preference for Doritos over potato chips.

When I feel a migraine or nauseous, I eat a straight small pinch of salt, lol! It works for me, and I don't know why! Then after that, I turn to soda as well! I have never tried chips and soda combined, lol!

Yeah, he'll eat a couple of bags sometimes, but it does slow him down.

Last night I was in WM, so I looked for the Terra Sweet Potato chips (this thread made me crave them, lol). Bought a bag, then nearly ate the entire bag in one sitting last night. Sheesh!

These right here. They are super crunchy and vinegary and sometimes spicy. The story goes the company threw what ever spices they had left over from their other chip flavors and the voodoo chip was born.

I also like sour cream and onion ruffles.
