Pokemon Go | Pad Patter 7.12.16

Hahaha Grumpy lady, I am playing!

LOL well, you can be let of the hook as I met you in person and you & your amazingly gentlemanly husband are dear to us.... but yeah.... you wouldn't believe my grumpiness in the past 2 weeks!!!!!!! I mean grumpy is a small word .....
:rofl

getting better though, as you maybe able to tell as I have been around a bit more!!!!! :heartlub

My daughter left with her Girl Scout troop yesterday for Iceland. The game has not been released there yet, but all the Pokemon and all the locations are active. So tourists that bring the game in on their phone can play. She caught a Jigglypuff. They leave on Sunday for a week of camping away from Reykjavik, so no electronics then.

My husband and my daughter have been going out in the mornings to catch Pokemon. Since he works nights, he will walk with some co-workers and they will collect Pokemon while they are out. Anything nearby (he works about 5 minutes away), he will take our daughter to go collect it/them once he's off work.

It is pretty neat to see so many different people wandering about aimlessly playing. Sometimes funny, and some times not. My worry is that people are going to complain about people riding/walking through their neighborhoods or lingering around their business looking for Pokemon.

My sons are hooked! We were at Disney World last week and there were people in every line playing! There were even jokes about it in the Frozen Sing along show and made by a few other cast members!

I spent the last two days hunting with my 13yo son. So good to get him out walking and talking. Saw so many people doing the same, it's hilarious.

We need a pokekit from our lovely designers i think. This is a phenomenon that needs documenting!

well, update since my first post ... my daughter downloaded the app and is a light user now. she's enjoying it. i am still not avoiding it though! i really have no interest.

@Scrapping with Liz - impressed your kids don't know what minecraft is. keep them away from video games as long as you possibly can! ;)

I tried to take my son to a different city so that he could catch different pokemon. There is a candy shop about 30 miles from home that my kids like to go to and it is right next to a wooden park and a pond -- I thought he might find quite a few new pokemon while his younger siblings played on the playscape.

It turns out, we picked a weekend when the city was having a festival -- so the main street was closed down with booths and vendors and there were people EVERYWHERE. We did go to the candy shop (and bought lots of candy) and then we walked around. Neither my son nor I could log into our Pokemon games though -- I think maybe there were just too many other people around us -- and I overheard several people complaining that they couldn't get in either. I suppose the local cell towers were overloaded. LOL

One thing that amused me was the charging stations that were set up -- a strip of outlets with a sign "Pokemon Go! Charging Station". The two we saw were empty, but I thought it was a fun idea!

I think I would like it a lot though I am not a game player of any sort. But...god help me if I fell as my knee doctor reminded me that my femur might very well break as my knee would detach from it. But it sure would make walking fun otherwise!
