So I guess I'm just a visual person.

Ha! I totally understand what you mean. A lot is lost in communication when we cannot see body language and facial expressions. I tend to "just listen" when doing chores - like mowing the lawn for 2 hours :p Helps the time go by and the unpleasant task not be so unpleasant.

Lately I've switched to audio books from the library and I'm totally addicted to those. I only listen to non-fiction because those are ones I don't have the patience to actually read. I've been all over the board with them... biographies (currently listening to Jeannette McCurdy's), true crime, just finished a book about the language of cults and one about the data gap regarding women. So many fascinating things that I would never be able to make myself sit down and read :-)

I am an audiobook fan too! Thanks for sharing what you listen to. I am constantly on the lookout (or have my ears open) for new ideas. I've purchased a few audiobooks (which are not cheap) and regretted the purchase. The good thing with the app is that I could return the book/exchange it. So no money loss really.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to embrace them... but so glad that I have! I am able to check them out from our library and listen to them through the Libby app. Does your library use that app?

Here are some that I've listened to this year:
Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell
Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Perez (super data heavy but interesting)
Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators by Ronan Farrow (Harvey Weinstein)
Paradise Falls: The True Story of an Environmental Catastrophe by Keith O'Brien (Love Canal in NY)
The Less People Know About Us: A Mystery of Betrayal, Family Secrets and Stolen Identity by Axton Betz-Hamilton
I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara (there is a companion series on HBO)

I've listened to a bunch more this year, but these were some of my favorites. Like I mentioned before, I tend to stick to non-fiction for my audiobooks since I know I'll never sit down to read them.
