How long have you been scrapping and how did you start?
I started as a paper scrapper in about 2004, moved to digital to keep up in about 2006.
How long have you been using the pocket style and what drew you to it?
I think it just appealed to me because of the simplicity, and the ability to document our life. I still love to do an artsy type page- but ultimately, I wanted to tell stories and remember the who, what & where.
Do you exclusively use this style?
Most of the time, yes. But sometimes I just feel the need to play and do a more traditional page. Sometimes a girl just has to have some paint and stitches
How do you describe your style or look?
I do digital in a 9x12 book - usually a monthly recap and then extra pages for when I have a lot of photos. I try to keep it fairly consistent, mostly because it goes faster that way. I also do a hybrid 6x8 book for each of my boys. My layouts tend to be clean and simple. I am mostly about the photos, stories and some word art and a few well-placed embellishments.
What advice do you wish you knew when you were just starting out with pocket pages?
Hmmm- just do what appeals to you! These are your stories and photos- that is what makes it special. Also, don't give up! Even if you get behind - just pick it up when you can- you will be so glad when you get that book printed or complete an album!
Do you have any other tips or tricks to share about pocket scrapping or your style?
If you like clean, simple layouts, just select a few template options and be consistent about your background- light, neutral colors are timeless and allow the focus to be on your photos and text. That may not be your style - find what appeals to you and go for it!
What is your favorite TLP product to use for pocket pages?
Oh gosh, there are so many great pocket products out there! Just Jaimee storyteller kits are so generous, I LOVE Allison Pennington's colorful cards, Sabrina's & Amber & Sara and One Little Bird make such pretty things! I tend to like things that are very graphic and Sahlin Studios products work well for the type of pages I create - I live with all boys so I adore her kits, words & numbers and JC's. Mommish and OLB have the greatest shadows, and even on a pocket page, to me that is an important product. But my creative heart belongs to Paislee Press - I use the different 4x6 and 3x4 and 6x8 templates & word art on just about every layout. Paislee Press has JC's to fit every situation, holiday, theme you could ever want & a lot of plain cards that work well to customize. I know there's many other great designers and products out there- I just haven't had the chance to use them.
Are you on any Lilypad designer creative teams?
I'm so blessed to be on the Paislee Press, OLB, and Sahlin Studio Teams.

How long have you been scrapping and how did you start?
I first tried paper scrapping when I was about 13. A little scrapbook store opened in town and I was drawn in by all the cute supplies! I paper scrapped until my first baby was born in 2005, then switched to digital and haven’t looked back.
How long have you been using the pocket style and what drew you to it?
I started in 2012 with P52. I loved the idea of weekly documenting, and focusing on the everyday moments & little things that didn’t always make it into my scrapbook albums. I loved the simplicity of just filling pockets and not having to think about layout design.
Do you exclusively use this style?
I don’t - I still love to create more traditional layouts as well. It’s about 50/50 I’d say.
How do you describe your style or look?
My layouts are all digital, 12x12 size, but I sometimes print at 10x10 or 8x8 as well. I love a clean-lined look, with some embellishing but not a ton. For my P52 pages I use the same layout with 4x6 pockets on top & bottom, with a row of 3x4 pockets in the middle. It simplifies the process for me. I do create other pocket pages from time to time, and I will include other configurations for those. I like to scrap Disney (hello, Project Mouse!) and other vacations using this format, and sometimes other “event” type pages or just photos of my kids.
What advice do you wish you knew when you were just starting out with pocket pages?
It can be as simple or complicated as you want it to be! If you love to experiment and play, there are so many options out there! Different templates, design styles, documenting styles. For my first P52 album in 2012 I had a hard time making my spreads cohesive as I was trying different approaches to find my style. When I started again in 2014, I simplified the process by sticking to the same template each week, weekly title card, journaling font, etc. Finding things I loved and and sticking with them helped me stick with the project and create pages I loved.
Do you have any other tips or tricks to share about pocket scrapping or your style?
To make my spreads cohesive, I mostly stick to one kit or collection. I pay attention to how the color palette works with my photos. I will often change one or more of my photos in a spread black & white, usually because the colors in the photo aren't working with the colors of the kit.
On my P52 pages I like to add a white border (stroke) on each photo - I use a 35 px stroke. I feel like it helps create a cleaner look.
What is your favorite TLP product to use for pocket pages?
I’m a HUGE fan of the Memory Pockets Monthly subscription kits. It’s great to have a mix of designers collaborating, yet everything works seamlessly together. The themes are broad enough to work for almost any layout, yet can work for more specific projects as well. There’s always a great variety of cards and embellishments, all beautifully designed.
Are you on any Lilypad designer creative teams?
Yes, I’m on creative teams for Amber LaBau, Just Jaimee, and Sahlin Studio.

How long have you been scrapping and how did you start?
I started scrapping in 2006. I had been participating in the photography forum of a popular scrapbooking site and ventured into digital scrapbooking after trying to make my own holiday cards and party invitations. It snowballed from there!
How long have you been using the pocket style and what drew you to it?
After a while, I burned out a bit with scrapbooking and took a break. At the end of 2012 I had the itch to start again and found P52. I like what it documented and, with it's pocket templates, it was an easy way to ease back into scrapping. After much deliberation, I decided to give it a go for 2013 and I'm now in my 6th year of doing project life.
Do you exclusively use this style?
I would say the majority of my pages are pocket style and keeping up with project life is my main priority, but thanks to MOC a couple years ago, I've been adding different types of pages back into the mix.
How do you describe your style or look?
My pages are entirely digital and 12x12 size... I love my printed photo books! I try to make a new plan each year. I need each year to feel "new", it helps with my motivation. This year I'm keeping my style very clean with mainly black and white cards and word art. Starting in 2017, I stopped scrapping weekly. I found some weeks I had too few photos and other I had too many, so instead I do a continuous stream of days. My albums read like a regular book and read left to right, line by line. It helps me get my pages laid out quickly and I never have to stress about photo count.
What advice do you wish you knew when you were just starting out with pocket pages?
There is no right or wrong way to do P52, don't get caught up in what other people are doing. It's great to look at other people's pages for ideas, but do what works for you!
Do you have any other tips or tricks to share about pocket scrapping or your style?
Snap lots of photos! Don't worry if it seems mundane or everyday... your "everyday" will change over the years and you'll be glad you captured life at that moment.
Oh... and pocket pages are a great place to use QR codes to document videos! I was late to the game, but started with them last year and I absolutely love having a way to get all of those little videos I take into my books.
What is your favorite TLP product to use for pocket pages?
Hands down, the one product I cannot live without is the Pocket Template Maker 2 Action set by Mommyish. They make my pages come together so quickly! I thought it might slow me down to make a new template each time, but, for me, it's much quicker than browsing through existing templates looking for the one that would work.
I know you've recently become a Polly, but are you on any individual designer creative teams?
Sahlin Studio, Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs and Just Jaimee

How long have you been scrapping and how did you start?
I started getting into photography and paper scrapping when I had my 1st child August 1999. I started digital scrapping in 2008. I have never stopped
How long have you been using the pocket style and what drew you to it?
Years ago I was on the Jessica Sprague digital design team. From there I got asked to join the very 1st Becky Higgins Digital Project Life team - around 2012. That was a great experience. We stayed together as a Creative Team for 2 years and then Becky decided to change her team annually. Ever since I have been hooked on this format of documenting our life.
Do you exclusively use this style?
No, I enjoy creating digital pages too. I love the challenges at the Lilypad. I find it good to challenge myself with new and different styles. This allows me to grow creatively and learn different techniques with Photoshop and Lightroom. This year I completed my 3rd or 4th - cannot remember! - January MOC at the Lilypad. I love this challenge and look forward to it every year!
How do you describe your style or look?
My style is constantly evolving. It tends to be on clean side. But I do like mixing things up when challenged. My PL style has also changed over time. It has become more simple with cleaner lines and less embellishments. I love using a white background, which I didn't always use. I find it is easier to focus on the pictures when there is less clutter. I also changed two years ago from the 12x12 format to the 9x12. I think this year my PL stlye will be the most uniform yet. I am trying to use the same fonts and weekly intro cards.
What advice do you wish you knew when you were just starting out with pocket pages?
That's a tough question! What really inspired me was to look online through galleries at the Lilypad and on Pinterest to find pages and looks that I was drawn too. Then I was able to identify what things I liked so I could create similar pages. There are so many great scrapbookers in the digital world!
Do you have any other tips or tricks to share about pocket scrapping or your style?
I take lots of pictures. I also store my pictures in Lightroom by date so it is easy to put pages together. I love to add silly quotes or things my kids do, to notes on my phone. That really helps with journaling. I don't always work in chronological order. I let the kit inspire me. I also get weeks and weeks behind and that's ok! Keep perspective - this hobby is fun!
What is your favorite TLP product to use for pocket pages?
That is a hard question too! I love pocket cards. There are lots of great designers at the Lilypad that I use frequently - Paislee Press, Sabrina's Creations and Allison Pennington. I also LOVE wordart and fonts too!
I know you're a Polly, but are you on any individual designer creative teams?
Luckily for me, I have been on several individual designer teams before becoming a Polly - Gina Millar, Allison Pennington, Amber LaBau, Valorie Wibbens, ForeverJoy Designs, Just Jaimee and Paislee Press. Currently, the only team I am on, besides being a Polly, is Paislee Press.
