I pinned this today from a yahoo article- I'm not all that much into yahoo but have to say they have some amazing recipes and tips for the kitchen-
Some of this I already do-
Now tomorrow we are making our first slow cooker dinner-

Have you got any easy to make recipes?
It doesn't need to be slow cooker, but something that one can put together in relatively short time, as until the weather gets better, chances of me being up & about are little :(

so , look forward to ideas, no need to be recipes, if you have something you cook ahead and freeze whatever is good for home cooking organization, it will be welcome!!!!!

We love the slow cooker! My family's fave is to take a big pack of thin cut pork chops and throw them in, throw in a can or 2 of cream of chicken soup, and then throw in a packet of the hidden valley ranch seasoning. Cook like 6-7 hours on low or 4-5 on high. Serve it with mashed potatoes or a rice dish. Seriously a fave!

Another is to take a pack of chicken breasts (can be frozen), throw that in with a can of black beans, can of corn (or frozen corn), a jar of salsa, and some taco seasoning. Cook 6-7 hours on low or 4-5 on high, then stir in a block (or half) of cream cheese if you want. This can be for tacos, over rice, pasta, baked potatoes. Easy and super yummy.

My family's new favorite is Chicken Pot Pie in the crock pot... Package of chicken breasts, large can of cream of chicken soup, can half water/half milk, bag of frozen vegetables, a little salt and pepper, 1/2 an onion... cook on low 7-8 hours or high 4-5, shred the chicken when it's done. We make biscuits on the side and then either spoon it over them or crumble them in it.

I also do chicken noodle soup and it freezes really well. It's just chicken breasts, about 6 cups of chicken broth, a little onion, celery, carrots, whatever you want in it. Shred the chicken when it's done (about the same cook time as the other). You can do the noodles separately or put them in the last 30 min of cooking. I'm not very precise because I seldom measure much when I'm cooking, I just dump it in lol.

My 2 go-to crock pot meals are Turkey chili (cooked ground turkey, canned diced tomatoes, green chilis, chili beans, and chili powder) and Chicken Soup (precooked rotisserie chicken, carrots, celery, chicken broth, salt/pepper... then add egg noodles about 30 mins before eating).

Easy Peasy.

ohhh my!!!!! I'm copying this NOW!!!!! amazing stuff !!!

I wonder what the equivalent of ranch seasoning is here..... but hey, get creative, right?

Here in the states is a little powder pouch that they have in the dressing aisle.

I cut 2 yellow onions, some celery, garlic, carrots and on top of that I put a WHOLE frozen chicken that has been seasoned with whatever you like. Cook for 4-5 hrs in LOW. It falls off the bones.

I put boneless spareribs in and cook for 6+ hours and the meat falls off the bone. I then remove the meat, cover it with a Bar B Q sauce of choice and put it in the oven until the sauce is browned up a a bit (15 minutes or so).

I'm so hungry! Guess what? I forgot to start my crockpot!!!

:rofl:rofl
you are the first person apart from Christa & Sarita who has got a cracking loud laugh from me these past few days.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that would be something I do....

with the chicken above...you stick the whole chicken frozen in the pot, or do you de-frost first? if no defrosting that would be SO good for me

LOVE my crockpot.

I make a real simple chilli---brown ground beef and throw it in, can of black beans, can of red kidney beans, can of diced tomatoes and a jar of chunky salsa. Cook it on low 6-7 hours and serve with shredded cheese and sour cream. We like to dip it with Tostitos Scoops.

Thinly slice potatoes, baby carrots, chop up some onion and add some to the veggies. I also add about 1/4 cup of water. Take a pot roast (cheap cuts work best in slow cooker) and add on top of veggies. Top beef with some garlic salt, Rosemary, salt, pepper and a little bit of Worchestershire sauce. Cook on low 8-10 hours.
