What are your plans for the day? It's also Veteran's Day!

Well I was kind of hoping to hear that I was going to be a guest Polly and have a celebration feast (yes feast)

Other than that.. I want to sneak off to the movies and see Immortals- Alone!

Me too! Bwahahaha!

I'll be at work but I want to document all the flags that will be flying in our town, send a thank you to my dad, husband, and sons for their service, and maybe see some friends later in the evening.

Nothing really planned here at all...DH is working, we'll be doing schoolwork (which will include a little bit about Veterans/Remembrance Day).

Next year I'm planning on documenting a 12 on 12-12-12 though...I think that'll be fun.

I plan on documenting it somehow. I'm spending it with my own Veteran (my husband) who is home for the weekend :)

:lmao Me too!!! hahahaa

I'm sending my kids off to go camping for the entire weekend with their buddies and my hubby has to go get certified for a class out of town for the weekend. I've got the house all. to. myself. :D

Well here in Canada it's Remembrance Day and I have the day off work.
I'm taking advantage to drive to my hometown up north to pick up my very first car! My aunt and uncle bought a new car and offered to give me their old clunker free of charge. It's ancient but apparently runs like a dream (my uncle's a mechanic) so hopefully I can get a year or two out of it.

Anyway around this time tomorrow I'll be the proud owner of a 1994 Ford Aspire, complete with classy 90's racing stripes :yesss

my hubby is a Vet, so ill do something nice fim him.
thought he had an appt tommorrow at the VA but its monday LOL I usually go with him cause he hates going and i get the vets laughing there when i go. Which i love.

My little *cough* darling *cough* is suspended from school until Thursday. So I guess I'll be playing teacher. Joy.

Ditto on the polly stuff...

I do actually have a lot going on though. My husband is a veteran. He had 18 years in when he retired in May. That makes us sound older than we are... we are actually only in our 30's. Only, lol.

He's a primary person who's been planning the parade event here locally. I created the flyer (it was published in the paper) and will also be the main photographer for the event. My husband's been working on this for months now. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Northwest-Arkansas-Veterans-Day-Association-Inc/199833860057687

Also, we have a football game Saturday, senior day and the last home Razorback football game of the season.

As if that wasn't enough, my niece is coming to stay the weekend (she's 4) and I'll go pick her up tomorrow (she lives an hour away where my family is) and will take her home on Sunday. My mom is also participating in a craft show tomorrow and Saturday.

BUSY!

I'm super curious what a little darling could ever do to get suspended, lol.

I go with my husband sometimes too. His doctor is a real jerk and HATES me b/c I speak my mind, lol... they are always giving my husband the run around about something. My husband went recently and I am glad I skipped that one (I had to work)... he said they had a FOUR HOUR wait for blood draws... holy heavenly cow.

Oh yeah hes had some jerks up at VA!!! it ticks me off cause you know these guys risk their lives for US and they cant even be nice to them or patient? i seriously want to smack Dr's when we go there. I hate to see some of the vets treated like crap. So i go even if its to wait for a few hours for hubby an talk to them and maybe brighten their day a bit.
You would think that VA would treat people better than regualr Dr's. nope. some get treated worse. makes me wanna cry and smack people

No special plans. The boys and I will probably bake cookies or something. There's a Veteran's Day Parade and Celebration here...one of the brigades here just got back from Afghanistan, so they're doing it up right for those guys. :) But, Husbands in the middle of a rotation, so he'll still be in the field. I'm not attempting a parade with my two wild children alone. It wouldn't be pretty.

My husband had nasal surgery and they were supposed to cover his one year of follow ups (the head guy approved it)... they covered three months and we spent the next year trying to fight them to cover the rest. They never did and he didn't heal correctly because of it. Same thing with his shoulder reconstruction surgery. He needed a certain type of physical therapy that the VA could not offer and yet they refused to let him finish which is a huge problem for him now. Its insane. They wanted to send him to Houston for a consult for surgery (4 hour drive wasn't far enough... Houston is an 11 hour drive) and nope, wouldn't pay for it. They blame "the budget" for the poor quality of care. I don't buy it though.

It is sad that people on welfare ( i dont have an issue with people on welfare if they NEED it lol) have better medical and treatments than Vets. Now tell me that isnt backwards.
Vets get it free at the VA BUT the treatments and care there isnt as good as what you can get at a regualr doctor.

im gonna have to check and see if they have some vet stuff going on. i think my kids would enjoy doing something
i know at certin restaurants vets eat free LOL

My son has to go to the VA for alot of things and yes, it takes forever! He absolutely hates it there but really doesn't have much of a choice at this time. And to get an appointment here takes forever but he finally got one on his birthday, which he'll be 27 next Wednesday. (No way, did I just admit how old my kid is?!?!?! Augh!)

Like Michelle said up here in Canada, it's Rememberance Day. I live in the capital and they normally have a celebration but I'm not sure if we'll be attending or not. My partner is going into the Military and I know he would love to go but unfortunetly, he works :s. Will probably end up being a day like any other for us. I'm giving my daughter back to my ex tomorrow so I'll probably be slightly poopy and mopey
