Is it glass?
Mine is really fragile - breakable - it's that "sort of glass" that Christmas ornaments are made out of. Not exactly glass, but they would shatter on the kind of floors that I have - we had ceramic tile in FL now we have hardwood. I just looked - they're classified as "glass". They have them on Amazon.

I have a Christmas Pickle, too. LOL It's so cute!

Mom and Grandma used to make pickles every year - we had cucumbers in our garden and pickle making was a big deal at our house. My favorite were "Bread and Butter" pickles - I don't know if that was a legit name or they just called them that. They canned enough for us to eat all winter.

Yes, my mom makes bread and butter pickles. It's a real thing. Or the real name. Whatever. They're real. LOL

I love baby dills, bread and butter pickles, cinnamon pickles, refrigerator pickles (cucumber and onion in a vinegar sauce that you keep in the fridge rather than traditional canning). My mom also makes what she calls "sweet heat" but they're also called candied jalapenos or cowboy candy. They are DELIGHTFUL spooned over a block of cream cheese and served with crackers for an appetizer. My Mama is a great cook and is always experimenting with something new all the time.

So interesting - I had to google bread and butter pickles.
We call them gherkins, the pickled baby cucumbers. You can pickle other veggies, especially onions, but they're not super wide spread. I love the sweet and sour variety, but will do dill as well. they need to have a crunch though, soggy will not do.

I don't love pickles, but I like them. I like them on my burgers, but not too many. I don't think I'd just eat a plain dill pickle anymore, but I used to. I also will have 1 or 2 of the sweet pickles on a relish tray at Christmas time. I do love relish though. I mix that into my tuna fish. Yum!

Oh and I forgot that my Mom used to make bread and butter pickles when I was a kid and I liked those too! :agree

Pickles - YUM! :giggle

So, I love pickles, but don't eat them often. I don't buy them often, but now this thread makes me want to! I love sweet, dill, and homemade ones! My parents get a horseradish pickle that is soooooo tasty. I haven't found it by me, but eat it when she gets it. They are local near to her, but not a steady rotation.

I would really love to learn to make them!

Bread and butter (sweet) pickles for me. I dislike dill pickles on my burgers, so I pull them off and usually eat them separately.

I also have a Hallmark "Hide and Seek" pickle ornament. I believe the Christmas pickle is a German tradition.

I really want to do this pickle ornament, lol! Maybe I'll have to buy it for later later when my kids have kids, haha!

We love pickles around here. I buy a huge jar almost every week.
None of us are fans of sweet pickles or bread and butter pickles. They have to be dill, cold and crunchy!
