how do i stop all the windows like floating,ive set it before but i cant remember how ?,anyone know its driving me insane
 
I believe

I believe you are referring to screen mode under the view menu. Choose which ever one fits what you want for display.....
 
You would rather have them in tabs? I think you go to Preferences--General--Open Windows in Tabs (or floating windows, whichever you prefer).
 
Finally! I've been wondering how to do this! My preferred settings were made by going to: Edit - Preferences - Interfaces - Then I "unclicked" the Open Documents as Tabs

I just broke down and purchased Photoshop CS5.
But I am so adverse to change. Sigh.

I had Photoshop CS2 before, and LOVED it. I'm playing around in CS5, and HATE that all of the files go on the bar. When I tried your suggestions of Window>Arrange>Float in all Windows, it did work... but it basically opened a new tab (or tabs) on my bottom bar on Window 7. Does that make sense? When I minimize one file (lets say a photo) it minimizes in the Windows bar, not INSIDE Photoshop. Any way to not make this happen? Please help!

Nicole, I tried to find that Edit - Preferences, and I couldn't find. Do you have CS5, or how can you get here again?

I know, that was a major adjustment for me when I upgraded too Krista....now I don't know any other way so its fine LOL. But I am like you, I HATE change! !
 
im still adjusting krista,and i dont think i have learned how to get it back if i minimise it yet lol
 
I do have CS5. I tried what I described and it worked. Did you ever figure it out?
