Okay, so, how many folks here manipulate (ie, "photoshop") their photographs?

What I mean is not adding a filter, or getting rid of a blemish on a face. I mean full-out removing someone from a picture not through cropping, or adding a face from another photograph to the one you want, or doing a major repair or "fix"?

I had to do that to a photo yesterday-my son and daughter each had a great face in a series of photographs, but not in the same photos! So I had to combine two photos to get the good shot I wanted of *both* of them. I rarely do this but luckily I didn't move the camera much, and I was able to match them up.

no, not often. i have done this once or twice for a family photo or something, but i usually just go with whatever i have and make it work.

I'm the same - I don't like to do it or do it often, but there are times when you just kind of need to. It happens with multiple people in a shot!

i don't do it often, either, but sometimes in that same situation - when i have a slew of photos when one person is smiling in one but goofy in another, so i string them all together and edit out what i don't want.

I do it often for things like family photos. But almost never for every day snapshots!

not often, but have done in sometimes... For exsample: Once where I had this shoot for a family and they kind of ordered me to change a face, cause they felt it had to BE ALL perfect...I was shocked, but hey.. that's what they wanted!!

I'm not talented enough to replace faces :) I will occasionally clone something out - like I had a beautiful picture of a sailboat in the sunset the other night, but a big wooden pole in the middle of the ocean ruined it so I got rid of it. But not regularly...I'm not even that good at cloning either!

Yes, I do, though I don't know that I do it well, lol. Do you have a tutorial that you use? I can't stand for everyone to not be looking at the camera, even in everyday pictures. If I'm gonna scrap it or put it in my PL album, I don't want it mocking me, lol.

I am constantly removing gross boogies and/or bits of food or dirt from my son's face and clothing. Does that count?? :D

I did a bigger manipulation for my brother yesterday. He took photos on the beach of my dad and a couple of my nephews on their crabbing/salmon fishing trip. He wanted to frame a small copy for my dad for his office. But there was something wrong in every single picture. Someone's eyes were closed, someone wasn't smiling, or looking the wrong way. I ended up taking the face from a smiling pic of my dad and putting it over one where his eyes were closed. Then I also removed a group of people walking on the beach. I the manipulation was pretty convincing.

I don't do that kind of thing frequently for myself, but I seem to end up doing it for friends and family members a few times a year. :)

I do it sometimes but not for everyday photos. Sometimes the imperfections are what life is all about!

I do it once in a great while, and usually for a family photo that going to be in a Christmas card or something like that. Otherwise, I'd rather spend my time playing with scrapping kits. :)

I clone/content aware things out of my photos when needed but I don't think I've ever done a face swap on a photo before....

I don't have enough patience to do it very often.

I did do it for a really cute photo of DD last year that I was using on our Christmas card. One of her pigtails got caught in the Christmas tree as she was leaning against it, so it looked like she had one ponytail on the right side of her face. I copied, flipped, and duplicated the 'good' pigtail so that I had two and since it was against the tree, I didn't have to worry too much abt matching up the background of the photo. No one could tell (at least that's what they told me!). :)
