My son is having a party in 2 weeks. We are camping on this island in the middle of Sydney Harbour. So what food and games should I do for 10 year olds? How do I keep them busy so they don't start getting silly?

We can't have a fire, but there is a bbq. We will have to haul everything onto the ferry to get it there. Tents are supplied and each child will have their own sleeping bag.

My little brother had a birthday while we were camping. We had ding dongs for birthday cake. He was in 7th heaven and still talks about how awesome it was. (yes...our house was mostly devoid of junk food) Hot dogs made on the bbq would be perfect too! :) Sounds like so much fun, Amanda!

Let me consult the great and powerful Pinterest....lol no but really I just saw something on there yesterday that would be great...let me find it....

Here are a few more cute camp parties:

Boy's Campout Party
Happy Campers Party....I like the flashlight and jar gift ideas!

As far as games...have you guys ever heard of snipe hunts?? And then there is always flashlight tag at night...though with 10 year old boys that might get dangerous lol.

A scavenger hunt would probably be a huge hit with boys that age. Make a list of about 15-20 items they must go find. Have them divide up into teams and work together too.

Karah did a party like this for her son...I think it was like a Survivor's party. I will tell her to get in here and share what she did because her parties are always awesome! :giggle

My sister in law just threw a campout party for my niece - we actually all stayed in tents in my parents yard. It was a blast. She gave these as "favors", which were great to snack on!!!

We also made these cute little lightening bugs with the kids, but not sure they would be great for boys - you'd have to feel that one out! We did have some boy cousins who thought they were cool, but who knows! I sure as heck thought they were adorable!!!

LOL Laura!

I don't know if this would work where you will be, but I had a bunch of scraps/supplies and glue and had the kids all build their own "survival raft" and then we had boat races across a little wading pool. If you could find a creek or something that would be fun! I just gave them each a square of craft foam and then they made their own sails out of popsicle sticks, twigs, rubber bands, paper, I cut up a plastic tablecloth they could use, etc.

I also bought a slingshot with foam balls at the dollar store and drew a bear on a poster board so they could have "target practice" - they loved that.

Hmmm what else. I'll have to ask my son and get back to you. LOL

This sounds like so much fun, and I'm sure I'm the worst mom in the world now for not doing these amazing parties!! I did do fun ones when the older boys were young...but then it just became parties for family or slumber parties with video games all night!
