I am seriously in a paint color CRISIS over here. :stars

I want a soft teal/turquoise. I swear all the colors are either too dark, too green, too blue, too pastel, too something.

When I look on Pinterest to see what they look like in a room, it seems totally different than what I'm looking at in my kitchen. (I have the swatch book.)

I had settled on Aqueduct but when I looked at it again in the kitchen, the ones darker on the same strip seem so green, which makes me think I should move over one strip towards blue.

Spa is definitely too "baby blue" and Mariner seems darker than I wanted to go.

I'm going to cry over here.

Anyone have any input? I'll be painting my cupboards white, and the soffit white. So, really, this is just the backsplash in my kitchen, but then my entire eating area too? Or do I paint that a different color?

Ahhhhhhhhh

Angie. . .I'm wanting to paint some furniture for my daughter's room in a turquoise color. . . personally, I like Julep. . .maybe have the paint store lighten the shade a bit. I think warmer colors always work better in eating areas. Just my 2 cents. . . can't wait to see your finished product!

The Aqueduct strip doesn't look too green on the monitor, the one to the left leans a little green. Lighting has a lot to do with it. And changing your cabinet colors to white will change how paint will look in that room, will definitely make it go "cooler" so I say go with your instincts and pick the color you originally chose.

I've only hated one paint color in my life and I've used A LOT!

I got a quart of aqueduct and I painted one corner and I dunno. It seems awfully minty.

I've hated 2... one was a sage green, which I painted over after only one wall done. Another was a yellow in the bathroom. I could never get past thinking it was the color of pee. LOL

Now I'm thinking I might do an accent wall in cooled blue if I stick with the Aqueduct. It's definitely greener than it looks on that swatch, but I held the far left strip up to it and it's way bluer than those of course.

This room is just so hard to paint around the cabinets and stuff, I want to get it right the first time. Last time I hired it out, that's how annoying. LOL

I personally like mint condition....
but based on your tastes, I'd have chosen aqueduct too... do you have a pic of how it looks on your wall?

Here's a sample of it. It IS greener than I wanted, but I'm going to go with it. The next bluer one is too blue. The red parts are all going to be covered in this color. White staying white.

I think that color on your wall is gorgeous! Especially white all the white surrounding it! Go for it! :) A good friend of mine is redoing her kitchen right now with all white cabinets and I want to do mine that way SO bad!

I basically have that color as the trim in my kitchen. Mine might be just a hint bluer, but it is really close. I have a lighter color on the walls (probably closest to Swimming), and I totally love it.

Can't wait to see more pics!!!

Still considering moving over to Mariner. IDK. This seems so green and bright and I don't love it. Maybe it will grow on me? lol

Personally, I like Mariner. But it's your kitchen. Pick a color that makes you happy and won't leave you staring at it in the future going "I really should've painted over that when I had the chance."

orrr I might scrap the whole idea and go with this:

Although I like the idea of turquoise better because of my red Kitchenaid.

Ahhh.

I think stick with your original plan... I like it... but if you think its too green blue... I'd go over a step and up one... see if you can buy a couple of samples and try them out on the wall. Personally, I like what you have so far... it's a great color... I really like the red though... I'm wanting a red wall. You don't by chance remember that color do you? lol!

Sherwin Williams Heartthrob.

I hired a lady to paint that, and when she opened the can she said "... is this the right color?" :rofl

Oh I like the Mariner too! AND, if you have a red blender that would look SO amazing with the turq and white! I want to see after pics please! I REALLY want white cabinets with fun blue walls too. Think my hubby would kill me if I did it while he was gone? He refuses to let me paint our cabinets because they are a nice real oak. He calls painting them... ruining them...

if it ws too minty when you tried it, go a shade darker. i've put some pretty dark colors on my walls before, and it turns out looking better than i expect. ???

if you're not having any luck, what about switching to a different line of paint. seems everyone has slightly different colors. we're in the middle of painting the WHOLE friggin house, and it seems if i can't find it in SW paints, Glidden has it, or some other such example. Don't lock yourself in to one brand if you aren't satisfied with the color. We've used lots of different paints in all of our moving / repainting over the past few years... even multiple brands in the same room... and it has all worked out just fine.

It's way darker than I had in mind when I came up with this hairbrained painting idea, but I think I will love it.
