Late to the chatty pad today my friends!
I was at my Kindergartner's Christmas class party this morning and totally spaced getting on her to chat with y'all. I had so much fun with my little one, but he was DEVASTATED when it was time for me to leave. They still had about an hour of class, and I had to go to work. It just broke my heart to leave him. His teacher was super sweet and walked him out for recess, but when I got back to my car, I could see him standing by the door to his classroom, looking so sad. Oh the guilt!
I remember my older son doing this too, but it's been a few years. :blush

Tell me I'm not alone friends.
How do you handle the mom guilt?
How do you handle the sad feelings from your little ones when they pop up?

You’re definitely not alone.
I handle it by reminding myself it’s hard for my kids and it’s hard for me but we can all do hard things.
I am practicing helping my kids feel their feelings. Instead of saying “You’re ok“ I’ll say “I understand you’re upset and it’s fine to be upset.” It usually goes a little better when I start like that but not always.

Remember you did a great job already by volunteering to help with the party!

Oh gosh. That is heartbreaking. You're definitely not alone. Both of my boys did this to me too at different times, either dropping off at daycare or even sometimes at grandparents when they were really little. I always comforted myself knowing that it wouldn't last forever and that they'd get distracted by their friends or activities and feel better soon, but it's still heart wrenching for sure! On the flip side, it's super rewarding when you get to go back and pick them up again!
