There are so many new people coming to the Lily Pad! I get all excited! :yesss
I admit I get excited when my toothpaste looks pretty on my toothbrush.
I am easy and cheap! bhwhahhaa
but I got to thinking this morning, some of ya'll have been here a long time, and others just getting here...
but can you remember what you saw, or how you landed in the POND on the lovely Lily Pad?

<insert harp music>
I was working for Tangie Baxter as her girl Friday, knee deep in art journaling. I missed scrapping my family, and sometimes art journaling stuff doesn't work for losing first tooth, or student of the month pages.
Tangie told me, go over to the Lily Pad, it my favorite real scrapping store! I came over, and it was the day that Heather's then boyfriend, asked her to marry him. :heartslub He scrapped a page and posted here? Something like that!? I was giggling. I bought a few things, posted and then swam away.
We moved from Cali back to NewMex and adopted 3 more kids. Hectic was a word I lived. I took a million pictures and when life calmed. I asked Mirjam if I could please come back to her team? She said yes, but keep a secret she was about to open a store at the Lily Pad! oooooooooooooooh, that sounded awesome!
Then Lynne-Marie sent me an email, asking if I wanted to scrap again? She was coming back too! But it was a secret...she was going to guest at the Lily Pad!
FATE!!
Then the Month of Challenges :dizzy(beware newbies) a layout a day for 30 days is in January!
I was hooked and won a guest spot as a Polly. I hooked myself to Amanda and the back room, so that they would not throw me back!! I got to stay....and that is the story of how I came to the Pad!

What is yours?

I followed Natalie Braxton over from her blog when the Pad first opened, before it had forums or a gallery. SO many changes since then, but I've loved watching the progression of the site as it's grown into such a fantastic community!

Several years ago, I was writing articles for the Artisan Notebook and the Lilypad began donating products to work with. This led me to the wonderful people who hang out here. Last January I was looking for a more permanent digi home and I fell in love with the Month of Challenges and stayed. What fun we have here!

I was buying kits from Liz and Peppermint when they were at their old store and when they moved here I continued to buy their kits, then got hooked on the idea of winning coupons for the challenges. ;)

I found Natalie Braxton's ribbons by chance and was hooked from then on. Her ribbons drew me here but the BYOC kept me coming back.

i honestly cannot remember ... i know i created this forum account late in 2011 but wasn't really participating in the forums ... what eventually got me hooked was definitely the warm friendly community/comments on my layouts and participating in MOC. and of course i was always drawn to the designers here at The Lilypad ... always awesome!!!

<---- i don't know why it says joined jan 2013 ... bc i have a receipt email saying i joined under this username in late 2011. weird. maybe bc i didn't use it to post in the forum until 2013? IDK.

I was on Rachel Young's creative team and when she moved to the Lilypad (around 2010), I became quickly enamored with the Pad! I was a lurker for the first year, but everyone seemed so genuine and friendly. When there was a very small CT call (looking for a couple people to join the challenge team), I jumped at the chance, since hosting challenges was one of my passions (I ran the challenges at another digi store and was also on the Digi Dares team). I was overjoyed when I got the spot and I've been here ever since (going on 3 1/2 years now).

Slowly over the years I've downsized my teams but I'll never leave the Pad! In am constantly surprised and impressed with the talent and professionalism of our designers and with the sincerity and comradery here in the forums. :)

It says I joined July 2009. I think I was stalking the gallery before then though! I've been obsessed with all the designers here from the very beginning!

My profile says Feb of 2011, but I was shopping here before that. It took me awhile to jump into the forum/gallery. I was originally just a hoarder. I think I ended up here following Sara Gleason. I was also buying stuff from Lauren Reid and Valorie Wibbens, but my very first TLP purchase was from Gina Miller in May of 2010, so I guess I have her to blame. LOL. I have 1458 "invoices," and I don't even want to add up my total spent. LOL.

It took me almost a year and a half of shopping to get brave and actually post something in the gallery, but that was when I discovered the challenges. After that you guys couldn't get rid of me. :p

I had always gotten the newsletters, but I was pulled in two? summers ago when they had a daily giveaway that completed a big ol' summer kit. I've been hooked ever since!

ETA: I guess I joined in April 2012... however, I wasn't active until that summer thing. :)

Joined in April 2013 ( seems longer-in a good way):giggle I think it was digital scrapbooking day, Some one at an other site had mentioned the pad and I came just to have a look! , then there was the summer collab, but what got me to stay was Anne's Skinny challenge , <li title=":happydance2">:happydance2

:happydance2 It was such a good challenge, and because I was new to Art Journaling ,I needed a bit of help, and found out just how nice and helpful people are here. :luvya
Then of course came the month of challenges ,and now you will need a crow bar to shift me....

Just looked up my first LO posted here and it was May of 2007!!! I came here thru Amy Martin!!! I was on Miss HuniBuni and Amy Martin's creative teams from early on in my scrapbooking days, and Amy started this store (details are fuzzy for me how that all went down), but I was a digital housewife right from the get go! TLP is my one and only store!

Vivi!!! This made me almost cry happy tears! I loved those skinnies and you all became like family to me during that challenge! I am so so glad you stayed too!

I took classes at Jessica Sprague to learn how to digi scrap. I think it was in my very first class that Jessica sent us on virtual "field trips" to different digi stores to see the wealth of supplies that were available to us. I remember very distinctly that Krista Sahlin's style is what led me here. My own style has evolved quite a bit since the beginning but Sara Gleason's templates hooked me and wouldn't let go.

I know I lurked for the longest time before I worked up the courage to introduce myself.

Gosh it's been so long it's hard to remember exactly how I got here, but I'm pretty sure that I started seeing products on other people's layouts at MSA and I know Kate Hadfield's staples and rubber bands are one of the first things I purchased and her alphas hooked me too. I also love Natalie Braxton's strings. My first purchase here was in February 2008 and it didn't take me long to jump into the forum too.

I was on the site CT at Scrap Artist until that closed and was also on Rachel Young's creative team from before that, so when she came here and Gina Miller came here I really started being active in the forums. Now it's part of my daily life and I can't imagine even being without! :)

Wow...um, I totally can not remember. :dizzy 2010 seems like a LONG time ago. I know I loved Kaye, CD and Allison's goodies and I'm sure one or more of their designs pulled me over here after seeing layouts at TDD or MSA using their products. It has only gotten better here everyday since way back then and I love being here. It totally feels like home. So many friendly, fun and welcoming people in this community and some amazing designers.
I too, am never leaving.....you're stuck with me. :gigglep

I remember when the Lily Pad opened! When was that? I looked back in one of my older galleries and found Lily Pad credits from 2007.

I started coming to the chats because my friend Tania (Lunafaerie) was a Polly and I started hanging out here more when I joined Amy Wolff's CT. I just looked in my gallery and I posted my first pages for that team 4 years ago. Wow!

I may pop in and out a lot - sometimes for longer periods or sometimes sporadically - but this is still where I love to hang out! :)

Me to this is how I found the pad through Natalie and Kate, then I asked jacque and Amy if I could ct for them then applied to be a Polly thinking I hadn't a cats chance in hell, that was many years ago now

A really good friend of mine, Jordan, was (is?) a Polly, so I came over to check it out. Also, I was a fan of Peppermint's designs and became more interested when she moved her store here. Then I REALLY got hooked during the first month of challenges. Now, The Lilypad is my digi-scrapping home because of the awesome community. I'm not a huge forum poster, but whenever I do, I feel a part of the community, not an outsider looking in. I have been super impressed with every interaction I've had with the designers and staff here and it just makes me want to come back again and again.

I came when Allison came to the Pad and fell in love!!!!!!
