no, I am so not a cowgirl....think you have to have a certain DNA for horse lovers...I didn't get it..:giggle
but I am back to exercise, low carbs moving and grooving!
I put on 20 pounds in one year! :pigout (actually the last 6 months), so am back to walking in the dark at 5am.
My hubby is motivated with me, so that helps so much!
I DO NOT want to buy big clothes!
Anyone else, jumpin' into the saddle of health at the moment?

I feel like I'm always in the saddle...it's such a struggle to maintain! But, I have been extra motivated lately to really be disciplined. That's what it all comes down to for me is being disciplined. I start out with a good plan for the day in terms of exercise and diet and then in one bad moment I can ruin it all and down three cupcakes. Then I feel just terrible and it all goes downhill from there.

You can do it Anne!!!!

Ugh...I have to get back on a health kick. Last year at this time I was training for my first ever half marathon....finished it in Feb., then finished a 25k in May, and haven't really ran or done anything since. I think I got burned out. I would love to get me the P90X3 workout videos and the shakeology to go along with it - just keep putting it off. Generally when I set my mind to something i can stick with it, but I am feeling unmotivated. That's how it always is, I am unmotivated until I get so sick of the scale or how I feel, then once I get in the swing of it I am so thankful I did!!! You've got this Anne - we've all got this! FOR OUR HEALTH!

i keep trying, but never quite hard enough. I am trying to low(ish) carb it, which I know will work for me if I stay disciplined. It's so hard though...mostly because I rarely eat breakfast and scrounge for lunch, so I overeat at dinner... not good.

The past two days I've made sure I had eggs for breakfast and have actually eaten lunch. It's too soon to tell if it will really work. What I need to do most, and at the same time am *most reluctant* to do is to give up my nightly glass or two of wine.....I love my wine!

I need to take a leaf from your book Anne .... Winter eating and general laziness has left me with a flubbery winter add-on! You go girl!!

I started exercising really faithfully in April this year. A friend of mine and I trained for a 5K together and were VERY dedicated about going out even in the rain/slow/sleet/etc that Michigan spring can bring. Then we both started getting too many aches and pains so we started walking 3-5 miles about 4 times a week. That is good, but doesn't really help when I was still going to dairy queen and eating drive thru food all the time. So the day school started, I started using My Fitness Pal to count my calories and track my exercise. So far I've lost about 5 pounds, so I'm really happy with my progress. :woot

I have just got a Fitbit One - the clip onto your bra type - i love it! Love that it keeps track of all I do, now spring is here, gives me motivation to get out and enjoy it!

(ps I am not and never will be capable of getting out of bed for a 5am walk - yet again you are my hero Anne!)

Way to go Karen - that's awesome! Amazing what tracking can do, isn't it?!

Yep! It just made me realize how much garbage I was eating and that I was really off the bandwagon of feeding my family healthy meals too!

my doctor asks," Who cooks the food in your family?"
me?
"so you are in control, take that control"

oh, I wish I didn't love this man so much! lol

feeding my family healthy is so important too!!

back on track with the healthy eating ... i fell off the wagon around Feb of this year ... i blame it on our awful cold & relentlessly long winter. excerise ... not doing so good in that dept. i put on about 8 lbs since Feb. not happy at all. need to follow your good lead anne ... and maybe start tracking like karen.

YES! I started going back to the gym this week and counting calories again. I didn't do great, but I did okay! :)

I'm on a plateau. Well, may be heading down hill a bit, hehe. I started getting myself more healthy this Spring and lost 18 pounds from may to mid august. Have gained a couple back since then when I started slipping. Not exercising as regularly and not drinking as much water... plus, I started eating worse (again). I don't feel good about it and want to catch it b/f it becomes a full fledged mudslide.

I have about 20 more to lose. Seeing the Doc again in November so I am hoping that will keep me motivated a bit.

Good for you, Anne! Keep up the good work.

Me too. I just joined a gym this past week. And plan to participate in a women's fitness group that will run about 6 weeks to get me started (again). It has to become routine. Generally, when I exercise regularly, eating falls in line.
