What are you doing to transition into the next season? It's the last official weekend of summer here in the US. :tantrum Our leaves have already started to change and I AM NOT READY.

But, I did buy another Mum to plant in my garden (as if I needed another one, but I couldn't resist $4.99!) and I've started stocking back up on Pumpkin Spice K-Cups (I bought enough last year to take me through the summer haha).

What are you doing where you live? What about those of you switching over to summer?

well, i clean a lot.. bc my allergies have a resurgence this time of year and i die for a while :p so.. that's my "fall cleaning" time. blergh. our leaves started changing a couple of weeks ago-- i think it's because of the lack of water/rain this year. poor trees.. but it's gorgeous here in the autumn so I don't care :p

lol

i had to close the windows the other day because outside was making me wheeze.. it makes me sad :[ the less crap that's all over my house the less likely i am to die in the middle of the night.

I think I'm so used to Florida that I'd completely freak out if there was "fall". Our fall consists of cool evenings in mid to late October, while still sweltering mostly during the day. Of course, when it hits 75 I need light sweaters! It's all what we get used to. So until we hit those cool nights, we wear mostly the same here, shorts a lot.

As someone with a dust allergy too, I try not to disturb it. When I choose to dust, I know I'll spend the next day breathing funny and/or itching.

I think it would actually be fun to visit somewhere that the leaves change. I would DIE in the winter though as I just can't take the cold!

I've been cleaning, but it's mostly my "de-clutter" summer cleaning. ;)

I'm not ready for fall actually, but I'm ready for the cooler temps. This 110+ all summer just sucked!

I don't really do anything to transition from one season to the next.

Except it's not a bad idea to stock up on allergy medication, all three of us have allergy issues in the fall.

Changing seasons always make me want to purge and reorganize a bit, which is good. I spent all the last hour cleaning out one of our closets and sorting through kids clothes to see what's ready for them to wear and what we need to get. I've also got a couple big garbage bags filled to take to DI (local thrift store).
Gap outlet is having a sale so I think I'll stop there later today and pick up some things for DD as she needs a lot of clothes for fall/winter. She's been wearing a lot of tanks this summer, but it's gotten too chilly for those the last week so I've got to get her some new things ASAP.
I'm thinking about pulling out the fall decor as well... and maybe get some mums? Thanks for the idea Angie, my yard could use some sprucing up.

I usually hide under a blanket and emerge once summer gets here.... ;)

lol if I lived in Ontario that would be my tactic as well.

Bad enough being in Chicago..i totally wish I could hide under a blanket all winter, especially since I have a husband who thinks that 30F is a comfortable indoor temperature.

Does planning out and buying my daughter seasonally-themed and color-coordinated clothing for all of our annual fall outings count?! :giggle

I do nothing :giggle It's supposed to be winter here but it's hot like if we were already in summer. We even swam in the pool at my parents' today!! And the water was so nice! Besides, the weather is still very dry over here so I'm hoping spring comes soon and brings us a little of rain cause we are in need of it :(

Fall is already here, we've had so much rain and wind and fall storms here these last couple of weeks :/ However, I really enjoy the darker evenings (summertime it doesn't get really dark during the night) and a warm cup of tea while the wind is blowing outside.

Living in LA, it means that the hills surrounding the Valley turn GREEN, and the deciduous trees in my neighborhood shed their leaves after turning colors. It gets pretty chilly here in the winter (for me, now) getting down in the 30Fs and 50Fs during the day. And it rains. But, aside from a few Halloween decorations here and there, nada. I think that's because we never decorated for *anything* when I was growing up. I don't remember my working mom going all-out for any holiday, not even Christmas! (we'd get a tree, a few decorations). Maybe it was her Scottish Presbyterian up-bringing? ---and I'm babbling now. Could be good for a layout. Hmm.

I like to clean and declutter, especially areas like the porch and such that will be a pain to clean once it gets cold here in WI. Once it really cools off and stays cool, I'll switch out summer clothes for fall/winter ones, see what still fits, what can go, etc. Get out the snow boots and heavy coats. I already did just a tiny bit of seasonal decorating....some fall leafy stuff.....just a little! But the leaves are changing just a tiny bit here now so I figured I could! It helps that this time of year at work, we do a huge fall cleaning (we do it in the spring too) so I get into that mode and it carries through to my home life.

Yep me too, clean out the clutter, tidy the yard, bought a new fall coat and set a reminder to take fall family pictures to scrap. I don't decorate for fall but I would like to. Maybe I will buy a wreath or something for the door

We don't get fall here :(

It's still hot, although it's cooler at night and my house didn't heat up as fast today!

I think I'll get out my fall spiced candles and burn them while I'm running the AC full blast!

right now we're getting prepared to transition from football season to indoor lacrosse.
also from 'practice' season to competitive season in gymnastics.
i'm making more soups and autumn meals for dinner already.
and i've busted out the hoodie sweatshirts on more than one occassion. :)

My strategy is to fool myself into thinking the seasons are changing. Haha!! So I've been de-cluttering and organizing a bit and I've started to burn my autumn smelling candles and I've put my autumny wreath on the door.

I need to live vicariously through those of you who see real autumn. So I would looooooove to see lots of pretty autumn photos pretty please. :beat

We are definitely transitioning to autumn here in New Hampshire... Cooler nights but the days are warm, sunny, and comfortable. I like to get my crockpot recipes ready and dig out my comfy sweaters and fall boots. We are pretty used to the snow and cold temps that winter brings here in NH as well though. We just break out the down jackets, boots, hats and mittens, and we're on our way. It can snow a foot overnight.. we're up, shoveingl/snowblowing, driving on snow covered roads and still getting to work on time. :) I'm not looking forward to that yet. Fall is my favorite!
