Although I am Dutch my Asian roots are dominant if it comes to food ;-)
I love to cook (for 2 -3 or 12 I love it ) but we also love to eat out as well and Shanghai offers EVERYTHING from a dinner made in heaven for a few bucks to a Michelin star haute cuisine which can be not so nice for the wallet.
Before the kids, we lived the young dynamic life in Shanghai, we almost never cooked and ate out almost every night.
Another great thing is a service called SHERPA's which is a delivery service and a lot of restaurants use their service. Call them, choose a restaurant, order and within 30 min you have your meal
And sometimes when I don't feel like cooking our help/ayi cooks and she does a great job. My eldest is fond of her lamian (fresh made noodles in soupy broth) and if it were up to her she would eat that 4 times a week.

We do eat out now and then, but I find that I really do love eating at home more. I think I like all of the compliments. I like being in the kitchen and find that is relaxes me when I am just doing my own thing.
