I know I am crazy, because I wanted to do a kitchen remodel this summer and didn't happen so now I want to do it in the Fall. Yes, I am going to be working full time, but I want this done!

So, tell me. What have you done in your kitchen that you LOVE and what would you change?

I redid my kitchen cupboards last summer. They were a medium oak and I bought the Rustoleum Kitchn Cabinet Renewal in Espresso and got pewter knobs. They turned out great and the product was easy to use, looks like a brand new kitchen for $150. A new faucet and I reprinted a light taupe. This summer I painted my dining area red, I went bold and did two walls instead of 1. My portable dishwasher died so I installed a built in and put a black counter top in that area, my kitchen is galley style so it looks neat with the main counter across being white with taupe in it. Eventually I would like to replace the original counter at which point I would do matching ones. A tile backsplash is on my to do list.

What would I change? Wish I would have gone stainless appliances. When I replaced my stove the fridge and dishwasher were still good and white, so white stove. Dishwasher died, new one and went white because of fridge and stove is only 5 years old, lol.

we had it re done by the council last year and we had to finish it, I got some rails & buckets from Ikea- the one thing I regret having done was asking for a breakfast bar to go in lieu of the table...long story short, I want my table back LOL

When we re did the kitchen on our own in 2005, painted, moved stuff around & added some shelves, but our kitchen is too small so not much we can do....

Jaye, I will look into this, I have a paint in mind but it's a tad expensive. We'll see.

i have added crown molding to all my kitchen cabinets and then painted them all (once honey oak) to white. i've added hardware, lighting and paint to the walls. in november i painted the counters black. it's not the most durable but i love the way it looks and it is a great place holder as i save for concrete countertops. and then the floors are next!

We have a nice new kitchen and have stainless steel everywhere - love it! So easy to clean and reflects light beautifully. Also nice white stone benchtop and mostly white doors with glossy chocolate brown cupboards up high.

The best feature I would highly recommend is a pull out drawer next to the stove for oils/vinegars etc and also a segregated cupboard for storing chopping boards/baking trays vertically. so handy and take very little space at all.

Last spring, my husband painted our Honey Oak colored cabinets white -- it was a huge job, but it turned out beautiful and we love it. We also bought Giani Faux Granite countertop paint for about $60 and while it is not a long term solution, it actually looks great and fools most people who come in. We thought it would be hard to keep white cabinets clean, but I actually think it is easier. On the darker cabinets, I wouldn't always notice when things dripped on them, but when something drips on white, you notice it fairly quickly! :)

I just moved into a rental house with a lovely kitchen - the only thing I want to do is put up my clock and maybe some under cabinet lights.

I have been toying with the idea of painting my oak cabinets all white for the last two years, but I can't seem to pull the trigger. I know that it would be 100% my job as my hubby hates to paint and I'm never sure when a good time to do that would be. I think I'd prefer to buy a paint sprayer for the doors at least, so then I'd need to do that outside which means summertime, but I'm always too busy in the summer to actually do the work.

So for now I just recently decided to buy new hardware for the cabinets and even that little change has made a huge difference!

I have all newer appliances in white except for my 1970 black behemoth of a oven. My hubby wants to get that replaced but I won't let him until my oven dies. It's ugly (retro?) but it works very nicely, so I don't want a new one.
