Is there one thing you always wished you were good at, but try as you might, you came up short?

Pretty much everything for me... I seem to be mediocre across the board. :giggle But I wish I could sing. I love to sing loud and proud. My family, not so much. :whistle

Cooking! My mother is a master and can just "throw" stuff together from what's available in her pantry. I have to follow a recipe to the letter and the dish still rarely turns out decent. I'm thankful that my husband is not a complainer (about food anyway, LOL). Oh, and I wish I liked it more, too... that may be part of the problem *hehe*

Sports. of any kind. My boys are in baseball and will ask me to play catch with them. Well, they used to. I always tell them the same thing, I can't aim and never know where the ball is going to go. They never believed me at first. Now they don't ask me to play catch with them anymore. :giggle

Sports. I wish there was at least one sport I loved to play and was good at. Sadly, I'm just not an athlete.

Funny, Karen. We posted at the same time with same response. Yes, i have a boy, too. He's too little to play any sport but I hope I won't come up too short when he's bigger!

growing up I always thought I was horrible at anything artistic. Drawing, crafts, painting -- I just missed that gene. It's ironic now because I have so many artistic outlets and I can't imagine my life without art. And I have developed a talent for it.

That answer came immediately to mind at the top of the thread. And then I read the others and I was like -- oh yeah and cooking --oh yeah and sports -- lol. Well, at least I am artistic now!

I also really suck at sports! I have no hand-eye coordination, and if there's a ball involved in the sport, it usually ends up hitting me in the head or rear end...LOL!

Thank goodness I can dance at least...;)

Keeping house! I so wish I were better at it! A little bit of mess doesn't bother me as long as I can do my own thing ... But I WANt it to bother me :) I see my friends spic and span houses and I am all jealous but know it is an uphill task for me ... So def want to be a pro at that ... I'm taking baby steps though towards it :)

For me it's cooking too! I wish we didn't have to eat, lol! Coming up with something to cook for me is excrutiating almost!

:dancebunI wish I were a better dancer! I watch SYTYCD or Dancing With The Stars and wish I could do what they can. I have two left feet. My hubs and I tried line dancing years ago and with or without alcohol....I couldn't do it (well). I stumbled, forget the steps and often went in the wrong direction

I'll have to go with singing as well. There was a point where it was a joke at family gatherings that we needed to start marrying people who were really good singers because even Happy Birthday sounded bad. My DH is even worse than me, so I definitely didn't help the gene pool. LOL

Definitely singing for me too... I've always disliked my voice and so does my family, but I sing anyhow! LOL! :-)

Another sports one here. I absolutely dreaded any of that in school, team sports or not, didn't matter. Bad balance, bad hand-eye coordination, none of it's pretty.

Singing. I love to do it but I know it sounds bad. And cartwheels. I'm still determined I will master them before I die!

Singing for me... my girls reckon I sound like a cat right when you stand on its tail... that horrible pained wail they emit... makes no never mind to me anyway I just sing a bit louder to torture them some... hee hee mean mummy I am!

Anything that requires coordination! Dancing, sports (growing up with three brothers, I ended up with many blood noses after missing balls that had been thrown to me- Self defence kicked in eventually and I can now catch!)
And I cannot draw anything recognisable...

Yeah, I'm one of those mediocre people... not really good at anything.. lol!

But I would love to be able to carry a tune! lol!
