I know, I know. It's still JULY, for pete's sake. It's literally 100 degrees outside my house right now and pretty doggone warm inside (poor A/C). But every.single.year. I have intentions of creating handmade gifts for Christmas and every year August slides right into December and it doesn't get done.

SO... in the spirit of Christmas in July... Do you make gifts? Do you do it early? Do you put yourself on a schedule?

I love the Holiday Planner idea Kimberlee posted. Maybe something like this for gift projects would be helpful?

What have you given in the past? Especially if it combines your digi passion with gift-giving. What are your plans for this year?

My good intentions are dying to become a reality :flirty

I make ornaments for everyone every year. I never start early enough, my original idea never works out, but I make something else work instead. I try to keep my ornaments flat enough to mail, so family and friends away can have them too. Of the past 5 years, 3 or 4 years' holiday cards were made with digi supplies :)

my handmade gifts go only as far as a calendar (done digi scrapping and uploaded to shutterfly to print), photo prints, and photobooks. Nothing hands on crafty really! Would love to hear ideas though - it's never too early to start planning!

I make calendars too and our parents love them! They are rather easy to make too. I just turn a few of my pages into calendar toppers, and have the calendars printed online.

Another person in the calendar camp! My parents requested them after the first year and they were a particular favorite of my MIL before she passed away.

We also (try!) to do small gifts for our neighbors. I had a Pinterest pic to share but the pin board is acting wonky for me ATM.

I'm wanting to do more handmade this year. But with older boys it's harder. And my dad doesn't want more "things" so I'm a little stumped. Maybe a calendar for my dad is a good idea. I do have some ideas for crocheted things for one son, maybe the other as well. Kristina's ornaments is something I might start again. Now that there are digital ornaments available I think that might be fun as you could personalize it with a significant event from the year.

I'm another one that does a small 4x6 calendar for a handful of people. After I made the first batch everyone keeps requesting them again each year and it's super easy to do, so why not? :) I actually even make one for myself and use it (and love it) all year long.

I used to do lots more handmade gifts, like jewelry, paintings, stained glass, crochet, etc from whatever my current crafty obsession is, but then I'd get so stressed out because I'd always run out of time, so I've tried to really limit those projects.
