Are you a roller coaster person? Does it matter what kind of roller coaster it is?

I can't ride them because of my stupid brain thing, but I always used to like them if they weren't *too* crazy.

I saw this today and just had to shake my head. Even if I could go on roller coasters, I couldn't handle this. Yikes.

What about you? Are you a daredevil or is safety more your thing?

This kind of roller coaster is more my speed. :giggle

Whew--that Batman roller coaster looks fun and super scary!! I used to be a roller coaster girl, but it had literally been decades since I rode one until we went to Silver Dollar City (which is a pretty small amusement park) and rode a couple of tame ones with my boys. I don't know if it was the combo of them being kinda scared and it having been so long since I had been on one, but it was definitely more frightening that I remember (and not quite as enjoyable). My one son sat out the first ride and I barely survived it with the other and when we went back to find him, he had decided that he did indeed want to try it out. I didn't want to discourage him doing something that it clearly took courage for him to do, so I swallowed hard and went back with him. When we got off, he was proud of himself for going, but declared that he thought he would only ride one once every 10 years LOL

That's so funny Becky! :)

I used to love roller coasters. My hubby (then boyfriend) and my Sister and her husband (then boyfriend) used to go every 4th of July to Cedar Point and ride them all day long. Since getting married and having kids, even when we do go to the amusement parks, I have always been with my kids and ride on whatever they are tall enough for. Now they like them too, but aren't big enough to go on anything past the tamer mid-level coasters. I think I'm okay with that for now too! :)

I can't do the spinning rides at all anymore. I used to be totally un-phased by those too.

Oh, I LOVE ROLLER COASTERS! Seriously, I am so sad going to amusement parks with my young kids b/c I can't ride them :giggle

I haven't ridden the Batman (is it live yet?) but love the Superman.

I know I would love Batman as well.

I need to take my big boys ONLY to Six Flags again so we can ride, hehe. Forget those stinkin' kiddie rides. Give me an adrenaline rush anytime!

I am totally not a roller coaster person!!!! Call me chicken or whatever .... It's just not me! They give me the shivers!

We just got back from a 3-day trip to Cedar Point!!! This year our kids were FINALLY all tall enough to ride anything and everything in the park. And we rode them ALL... except for the spinny ones.. I can't deal with those.

I've never been afraid of coasters - have always loved them. However, I will definitely say that this trip I started a list of coasters I will never again get on because they are ROUGH and they HURT!!! LOL Still, my oldest and I rode every coaster in the park at least once... even the Dragster, which took me a bit to talk myself into. Turns out I absolutely LOVED IT, and it's one of my new faves!!

We just left Cedar Point this afternoon! I am totally a roller coaster person... in theory. I have neck issues (I broke it at age 14 and now I have arthritis setting in), so I can't do anything too jerky anymore. That's my main issue now, not being scared. Although... last night I don't know what happened, but I got extremely dizzy after riding Gatekeeper. It was some crazy inner ear thing where I could hardly walk straight afterward!! Thankfully it was like 11pm, so I was able to make my way back to our room and go to bed.

We go to Silver Dollar City about every year too. I just can't do Outlaw Run... too hard on my neck.

I LOVE roller coasters! We just got back from 2 days at Carowinds and my youngest was just like 1/4" from being tall enough to ride the really big coasters. He was disappointed, but could still ride some of the smaller ones. We traded off on the big ones :) I was really excited to try this new one, Fury 325

This is the first year we haven't had season passes because it has been a shorter summer and I've had to work some, but next year for sure and hopefully the little one will be tall enough for the best stuff.

How did I miss this thread?? I am total complete rollercoaster fan. We try every single one we come across, and I have since I was young when my Dad did the same, haha! We had season tickets to WDW when my kids were young.

I have found that my boys arent fans of them but my daughter is a total thrill seeker like us. I think that is odd. Anyone else have this happen in their family?

OMG!!!! That video already makes me want to throw up. Not sure I could handle that anymore.

My daughter is the adrenaline one in our family. My son pretty much refuses to ride any and all roller coasters. Growing up in Orlando, I've ridden all the Disney coasters a million times... but all when I was younger. Haven't really enjoyed riding them in the past ten years or so, makes my stomach icky.

I love them... but cannot handle them as much as when I was younger. Usually, I will last for about 6-10 rides. My oldest is getting into it, so that may increase so I can enjoy them with him. I'll have to bring some advil. LOL!

To this day, Kingda Ka is my favorite. I think it's the tallest around here:

My old favorite was the rickety Rolling Thunder. They have since taken it down. Boo... It was an old awesome wooden roller coaster. They tore it down for Zumanjaro.

Spin rides, in tight circles, i cannot do. I can handle a ride on something like the Himalaya though.

Yes, this has happened in our family, too... My oldest and my youngest LOVE them.... my middle son - let's just say he tolerates them. Certainly don't think he will ever go out of his way to ride them any time soon!!

That is exactly it, our middle son! He doesn't even tolerate them now, just says no. He's done, haha!

I do not do roller coasters what so ever! ewww nasty no way.. I hate them! I can not go upside down anyways with all my ear issues so most are no gos for me anyways.
But.. I DO love water coaster/water slide type rides! i am a huge fan of the water
