So I had a big screw in the front tire of our huge van (15 passenger). We have a warrantee and usually I get very nervous and anxious about going to a TIRE store. I always feel pressured and so don't get the whole tread thing.
I knew we have had these for a while and we put some miles on this vehicle.
So they tell me the are ready to be replaced.
:dizzy:heartslub:dizzy my hands start sweating...
they give me price
I call hubby (who usually does all this for me)
and he says..yeah, that is a great price!
:woot
We all sat and watched them change out the tires and it was fun!!!
They had waters for all the kids and candy! Heck yeah!

Do you do these errands? Kinda things...what I have always seen as hubby's role? I had a blast and the guys in there were so hilarious too!

Not yet :) I got lucky up till now and he keeps doing his stuff.
But now I wrote this down, I'm sure I will "win" me some "hubby's stuff" this week!
Murphy's law....

i do when i have too, but like yours, my hubby knows what is a good deal or not a good deal better than me. i would have done the same thing and called him to make sure ...
but good for you for getting it done with all the kids in tow, glad they had candy and waters for them!

I do most of the DIY stuff and pick stuff up at the hardware store... hanging shelves, building flat-packed furniture. I guess we both have our jobs, but they're not traditional jobs for the man and the woman I guess :D

My hubby is HORRIBLE when it comes to car stuff. He's great with a lot of other DIY stuff, but cars... sheesh. It is a nightmare. We've had issues with repairs not getting repaired, but he won't go back and tell the mechanics. I miss the old days when I could fix most all of the stuff that was wrong with my car. :) We did get new tires recently, and it was a good thing because I was getting nervous about them. :/

Sometimes I have no choice. It never fails...when DH leaves for a TDY or deployment or whatever, something big happens that I have to take care.

I do take care of a lot of this kind of thing because I have more flexibility in my schedule. It doesn't always mean I am happy to take care of it, but I usually do :) I had the brakes in my van pretty much go out on me (there was a major leak in brake fluid--I have no idea what that means, except I was VERY nervous driving) and I managed to get myself to our tire place in one piece--that was a very nerve-wracking drive!--and get new brake something or other all replaced while DH was sleeping since he had been working nights.

Now, the yard is another matter--I don't ever touch that!

I. Glad you got a good price and no I leave those jobs for my husband but I panic when it's time for a car service

Yep, I am usually the one that has to get the cars to get oil changes, and tires rotated and new tires, etc.

I do a lot of stuff, but tires are something I never had to deal with much until about this time last year. I had taken DD, her BF, and my youngest to an amusement park 3 hours away. When we left the park, the tires just happened to be turned in such a way that I could see the inside edge of both front tires were completely worn down to nothing. There was no way I was driving 3 hours home with them like that. It was a Sunday and pouring rain, but we finally found a place that was open and changed all of them out for me while we waited. It was quite the adventure.

I am always the one that goes to get the tires. Because of my dad, I am just more comfortable making the decision myself. Now, I will send hubby to get the oil changed (at my preferred place) and any other maintenance that it's time for....I hate the waiting.

I've been driving on a spare for a month cuz neither one of us wants to deal with it. Honestly I can't afford a new tire right now anyway.

Blah, not something I enjoy either but yay for you getting a good price! My son usually goes. He's better at waiting and he and his Dad go over what tires to get before we send him.
