Seems like around this time of year there are many families gathering for reunions, which is pretty darn cool. Neither side of my family are having a reunion this year and I'm a little bummed. I know many of my family is on FB so that's helped us to stay connected but it's just not the same as getting together.

Any family reunions coming up for you & your family?

Nope. None fornus either. It seems like we can't even pull off getting the more immediate family together anymore. Everyone is always so busy and going in 20 different directions... us included. But we enjoy family in bits and pieces...like this weekend we are with hubby's parents and we've spent time with his brother and cousin and their families as well. So while it's not EVERYONE all together, we will take what we can get!

Well, honestly, I'd avoid a family reunion. It helps that we're all the way across country from all of our families. The last time I got together with a good portion of family it was a huge wedding. I thought I was having a heart attack afterward for six weeks until I finally went to a doctor and found out it was anxiety! (shakes head) This summer my daughter, however, is flying with a cousin back to Massachusetts to stay with my mother for a week, and visit some other, older cousins, so that'll be fun & good for her.

well, kind of sort of!! I have some older cousins that live up by my dad, and their daughter (we're about the same age) lives up there too now. I contacted them on FB and since another cousin is going to be visiting at the same time, we're going to have a get together. My dad is one of 13 kids, and there is only one other sibling still living, so it's really important for him to see some of the nieces and nephews.

I went to Europe with the one cousin when we were 15 and 16. There are a lot of fun memories from that trip.

We were hoping to do a bigger get together with cousins this year since my dad is getting older, but everyone just seems to be so busy and didn't get on the ball and plan it. It's sad that one generation is almost completely gone now. I'm really excited about getting to have a little reunion with the cousins that will be there though! There will be a lot of laughing, singing, eating....good times!!

Every family dinner with us is like a mini-reunion. I'm an only child, my parents are divorced (only for about 8 years though) so I don't get together with both sets. But every time my daughter comes home from college, my dad and step-mom come over to have dinner with us. Our only other family is a cousin and her kids/grandkids. My grandparents passed away years ago.

I can't imagine what a big reunion would be like.

DH and I both have big families and try to all get together once a year, which can be tricky. We just finished up a three day reunion (hosted at my house - I am exhausted!) with 25 people - his parents, siblings, all their spouses and kids. It was a blast though! In my immediate family there are like 40 of us (nine kids + spouses and kids and it adds up fast) and we have an annual summer get together as well, this year it's in August for three days. Thankfully that one is not at my house! I love our reunions, even though they are a ton of work.

I've never attended a family reunion before! Can you believe that?!

My daddy's side of the family has started having them in recent years, but since they're all in GA and I'm up here, I haven't been able to make one yet. When we go down to visit my family in October, maybe we'll have an impromptu one before I leave. I would love to meet my daddy's stepdad and hear some stories abt him from someone who actually knew him.
