confession time!

I painted one accent wall deep dark brick red in my kitchen last fall! love it!
I want to do another part (above cabinets and around the stove). But it has to be deep cleaned first.
It is the kind of gross, you really only see if you are going to paint...lol, but now I see it all the time (high ceiling kinda thing). I keep putting it off to do crazy things...like make soap and deep clean my grout...:whistle

confess? do you have a place that needs some TLC or just plain elbow scrubbing in your home? :giggle

our house is not quite two years old, so it's still fairly clean. but having lived in a couple of rental houses while we were building I know where to keep an eye out for all that nasty gunk stuff to build up.

the good thing about moving into a brand new house is that you know all the dirt that accumulates is "yours." the bad thing about moving into a brand new house is realizing just how dirty your family is. :p

My whole house! Sheesh! That's all I've been doing on this summer vacation. The last couple of summers have not been so great and I was in kind of a funk and didn't do much. Well, it's caught up with me now. I have cleaned out the kitchen cabinets and deep cleaned and painted the bathroom. Yesterday, I painted some a little furniture set on the front porch and touched up some trim around the front door. Today I am cleaning out our out building so that I can move some junk out of my laundry room. Next up, I am tearing the nasty carpet off the steps and maybe painting them. Anything is better than what's there now. My to-do list is never ending. But I am so ADD, I tend to hop from one project to the next randomly.

:whistle

my. entire. house.

no joke.

Ha ha... this is what I was going to say!!! I suppose, though, if it's in eye shot it doesnt' really need DEEP cleaning, just it's normal weekly cleaning.

I don't want to even think about the top of our bathroom cabinet. *shudder*

Oh yeah - Our old house was like that - we knocked it down - easier than cleaning.. (ok maybe more than one reason to knock it down but still...)

Now in new house so no deep cleaning or maintaince required yet - although I am avoiding the garage as there are a few last boxes to be dealt with - and sadly it is mostly scrapping stuff that I no longer use, guess a crafty garage sale will have to take place come spring time.

Our garage could use some TLC but that's on dh's to-do list. ;)

OH, we just painted our garage (requiring the obligatory cleaning) and it is awesome. Well, as awesome as a garage can be, LOL. DH put weights and a treadmill out there and changed the lights to ceiling fans. So, it's like a home gym... with a van :giggle

As for my house. I just cannot keep my pantry in order. It's not "dirty", but it's a red hot mess. With six of us throwing things in there randomly, I can't ever find a thing. And I organized it a few months back. #wasteoftime

Ummm...where to start LOL. For sure, the bathroom grout needs to be redone. Also, the kitchen cabinets need a good cleaning. I have a small steamer that I use to clean the grooves in the cabinet that works really well. I also need to give the floors a really good scrubbing. I have one of those swiffer things that is fast and easy to use but it doesn't get into the corners very well.

But, you know what??? It'll probably all sit for awhile b/c I'd rather be scrapping LOL.

Molly - I could take the words right out of your mouth...we have the exact same situation - new home, still fairly "clean", and good to know it's our dirt that is there, but still ewe...amazing how quickly it happens too!

Hmmm... not necessairily dirty, but TLC put off! When we moved, it was Christmas week about a year and a half ago. After that, school changes, and schedule changes.... then life. I still need to put up artwork, curtains (we do have shades up at least or I would flash the neighbors!) and a whole bunch of homey things. It feels unfinished, and I keep putting it off.

My laundry room is that spot. With a dog and all that entails in there all the time, let's just say moving the washer and dryer is a big adventure in treasure hunting.

My refrigerator REALLY needs to be cleaned out and the shelves washed off. I always love when it done, but I always put it off for more exciting things like scrapping! :)

The windows. I hate dirty windows. But with a dog and kids and rain (bring it on, not complaining because we need it!) it's a constant battle to keep them shiny. Mostly, it's the dog's nose and paw prints on the back door that I keep cleaning up.

I joined the 40 Bags in 40 Days Challenge on FB and that helped me get 2 areas in our house deep cleaned and de-cluttered. The garage was absolutely horrific.....like we couldn't put one more thing on the floor as we were having to basically crawl to get to things. That chore was completed in May and 2 weeks ago I got into our master bedroom and did a number on that mess! It does feel good to go to bed at night and have a clean and de-cluttered bedroom. Both DH and I think we're sleeping better!

Next up is the little bedroom which has all the Christmas decor and other crap! It looks awful and will most likely take a day or two to really clean it up. The big spare bedroom isn't too, too, too bad but....nevermind, it's just as bad!!! Much of the clutter has come from 3 boys whom....over the past few years....have needed to move back in for a time while they went through a divorce or job change. It's been 2 years since any of them have moved back home and it's really time for DH and I to go through this house. All I keep thinking is that if something was to happen to both of us, our kids would have a doozy of a time cleaning up! AUGH!!!!

You know those shelves up REALLY HIGH where you need to get out the BIG ladder, all filled with greenery and knick-knacks? I have way too many of those in this house. And now I'm allergic to dust (no joke, I get extremely red and itchy and have to take benadryl on top of normal allergy meds and it lasts for hours) I just can't go near the stuff. My daughter cleaned off two of them, dusted and everything and got rid of a bunch of the greenery that is just collecting dust the last time she was home. Who knows when the other two will get done?
