OMG! DH has literally been suffering from allergies this whole month and now my plans for relaxing out by our pool seem to be going down the tubes now that I woke up this morning with sniffles, sneezing, and coughing! Dab-nab-it!

Do you or your family suffer from allergies?

The pollen and molds have been bad here lately. I have been taking my claritin. Usually I get the headaches, watery eyes, and sniffling. My husband got a cough Saturday and by Sunday it was early bronchitis. Anytime allergies or something starts him coughing, his weak lungs go crazy. So he had to go on antibiotics, inhaler, etc.

Is he on any over the counter like claritin or zyrtec? Nose sprays like flonase or nasonex from the Dr. also seem to really help.

Ooooooooooh do I ever! I'm sitting here looking out my window at a gorgeous day but I can't go out because everyone on my street chose this morning to mow their lawn.
:furious

Let's just say my immune system and I are not on very good terms. lol

I actually just started taking allergy shots again because I've been getting pretty desperate for relief. It keeps getting worse each year and I've had enough! I already did the immunotherapy about 10 years ago - when I stopped the needles it worked for about 2 or 3 years then the effects faded away. So lame.

Don't even get me started on my food allergies . . . that's a whole other nightmare . . .

Yeah..my allergies act up in the spring and fall and make me miserable. I only take over the counter medication and only if it gets so bad I can't breathe.....I hate taking medication unless I have to.

Mold, Dust Mites, Tree Pollen

So... pretty much everything. :rofl

But, I went through a series of shots a few years ago so I'm not nearly as bad I used to be.

yes. i'm dying. ce says i can't go outside anymore bc i'm allergic to nature. tis true. all of it. die nature. ce and i both share a few food allergies, but those are far more manageable than being allergic to the planet.

This is my dh, too. He was a 30 week preemie (back in the DAY) so his lungs suck. He can't get a sniffle without it turning into a 3 month cough. Which is super enjoyable for ME, too. lol

Constantly. I'm the only one who seems to have them though. Allegra is the only thing that has helped me, but even that after awhile loses effectiveness because I have a weird system that way. I got up shortly after 5 this morning because I couldn't breathe. I took some Sudafed decongestant (the real stuff that you have to get from the pharmacist), and it has helped this morning. :)

Mine are horrible! My family teases me that I'm allergic to everything. I'm most definitely allergic to spring! I've started taking Allegra and that has helped some, which is much better than not being able to breathe at all.

Yup, seasonal allergies. And, of course, the tree pollen is out in force. Fortunately, I have Flonase (which I have to remember to take) and an inhaler for when my asthma activates (rarely). And I sometimes take Clariton, but I've been hearing good things about Zyrtek, so I might switch over. Antihistimine medications, even Clariton, make me drowsy or sleepy, so I have to take half-doses if I have to function. But it's only been since I've moved out of New England that I've been able to have two open sinuses at the same time for longer than five minutes.

I'm always surprised that my allergies are so mild considering my mom's are so bad. She has general mold/pollen/Nature allergies + asthma + lame sinuses, so she's on a constant allergy med regimen that she takes every day no matter what. She is also super sensitive to medication and is allergic to Ibuprofen, penicillin, the medicine they give you if you're allergic to penicillin, another kind of painkiller you get post-surgery (which was not fun to find out after her bone marrow donation surgery!), and eggs (so some types of shots).

Hubs has moderate spring allergies + and is moderately allergic to cats.

I, on the other hand, have a mild dust allergy (aww, too bad, DH, that I can't help you clean out that dusty attic!) and a mild cat allergy.

YES, YES, and YES. dh and dd2 have them horrible, i'm having lots of issues this year as well. we live for claritin.

I think I am allergic to everything and should live in one of those bubbles! I have to go get my shots Tuesday. I'm hiding inside because I can see that pollen flying around. Luckily, I am not allergic to Penny! Can't say the same about cats. When I had my testing done and the doctor*****ed my skin for cat allergens, my arm swelled up like a baseball.

I take an Allegra D every single day. If I don't, my chest is rattling. I don't get the itchy eyes, sneezing though very often. Every once in awhile I'll get an attack (itchy watery swollen eyes), and there is no rhyme or reason for it. It comes on...a day or so I'm better. Even with taking my Allegra D.

I'm allergic to friggin everything it seems (except food) I re-did my kitchen this weekend and all the dust and cleaning has made them act up like CRAZY!

All three of my boys are on generic Zyrtec (Walgreens usually has great deals on it) and I have horrible seasonal allergies too It has been a horrible Spring for me!
