Not necessarily Mother's Day related, just in general. What was the best thing about yesterday for you?
I'm tempted to say the peanut butter cookie, but I won't.
The best part was watching my PAINFULLY shy 10 year old actually perform in the piano recital for the first time (he's been taking lessons for 3 years and has refused thus far). Huge step for him. Proud momma.
The best part of yesterday? There are so many, lol. I took a nap, and that was wonderful. But the best part was getting pictures of ME with the kids. We waited until we picked Destiny up and went to the field by our house and Dusty snapped some pics. ahhhh, it is actually nice to have some pictures of me with them.
Best part for me was watching my grandsons enjoy the time with their dad in the swimming pool. My 6 & 5 year old grandsons are just too fearless! I bought them arm floaties but they pretty much told me that they are big boys and don't need floaties 'cause they're for babies! LOL I did let them take them off and then they did cannonballs the rest of the time! Those little stinkers surprise me every time I see them.
My daughter texted me at midnight to say Happy Mother's Day. Then she texted several times during the day. THEN, she called at about 9:30. I think she felt kind of bad that she couldn't see me this year (the first time) due to college classes. It was sweet!! My son was home though!
I think the best part for me was just getting to relax with people I love. It was fun shopping for gifts for my MIL. And also my gifts lol. Chris bought me all the twilight dvds and gave me money to go buy some nice hair products. Oh yeah and also homemade ice cream at my MILs house.

Waking up in my own bed, even though it was only one night.
Spending time with my dogs and cats....
I didn't really get to have a mother's day though.
And my tire blew on the way back to Texas...
I was thinking since the best part was my own bed, I should have just stayed there, lol
full breakfast made by the kids?
hand-picked flowers as a centerpiece?
over 100 kisses by Frogger throughout the day?
a little solo shopping?
orrrrr massage?
well..yesterday was kinda just like any other day for me because the hubby was at work and my kids are too little to do anything on their own. The best part was when the hubby brought me a tea when he got home from work around 10
Getting the homemade gifts from my daughter especially her card with a letter. After lunch, declaring pajama day and snuggling in bed with my daughter ....
I think the best part was just staying home and doing nothing! We never do nothing. I got to play video games with my kids, scrap a layout, get hugs and kisses from my kids and feel like I wasn't such a failure at this motherhood thing, after all.
Getting to pretend with Miss Monkey last night before bed. She was rescuing various pretends animals from the pretend pond in the living room and having me dress (with coats! *lol*), blanket, feed, and medicate them as she brought them over to me on the couch. I love that her imagination is as vivid as mine and that she totally gets that we are playing a game/it's not real.
My little nephew is a little teaser. He is two and a red head - so you can imagine that he is nothing but trouble. He won't ever say my name. But yesterday he was on the swings and he called out for me to come and push him. And he gave me that big charming smile of his. It just melted my heart!
Multitasking – "test playing" a fantasy adventure board game with DS that he had made up, while simultaneously coloring a Shrinky Dinks butterfly with DD.
Best Part of Yesterday: Getting home-made gifts from my munchkins, going out for brunch and drinking mimosas, ignoring house-stuff and just being outside with the fam.
The kissing wand DS gave me...and then later on the few times he surprised me with a tap on the head so he could have a kiss!
Staying in bed while breakfast was made for me
And the other best part, I didn't even realise until afterwards.
We saw MIL on Saturday night (along with BIL) so we wouldn't have to rush around on Mother's Day.
But then we decided to go to the markets after breakfast and half way there I said we should ask MIL to come.
So she did and then we went back to her house for lunch.
Afterwards I realised that she would have been home alone all day until 3pm (when she was meeting her DD) and this is her first Mother's Day since her own Mum died. So I'm glad she wasn't left alone all that time.
Hmmm... I think the best part was AFTER I finished mulching my entire yard (front and back) and I finally got to sit on the couch for a few. I love when everything is freshly mulched and weeked and looks all neat and tidy!
My hubby said I didn't have to help, but I volunteered. He took a picture and posted it on his facebook page saying he was the worst Husband and Father ever. Kinda funny!
