Trying to get DH motivated to put a small garden in this summer but I think this wacky Spring weather isn't helping. One day it's warm and the next is cool. I'm wanting a small salad garden with tomatoes, green peppers, squash, and radishes.

Are you putting in a garden and what will you be growing?

Due to living in desert our water is mucho expensive. We save our water for the bit of grass we coax to life in backyard. But boy does a garden sound awesome.

We have some raised beds that we always hope to put a garden in, but haven done much with the last few years. I would really like to grow something this year. Right now, we have a cabbage plant that ds got from school, and a bunch of weeds we need to get rid of. I would like to grown some green peppers, cukes, tomatoes, spinach, and some carrots. We'll have to see what we actually get around to doing...:hehe:

I usually just do tomatoes. They're the only thing the deer and rabbits leave alone. Lol

We always do tomatoes. This year we are also doing cucumbers, green beans, and squash. Last year we tried corn and pumpkins - but both were an epic fail.

I love having a vegetable garden. We've already got peas sprouting, and were planning on doing tomatoes in a couple varieties, zucchini and yellow squash, carrots, radishes, lettuce, maybe onions, spinach and pumpkins too.

We are still on the fence about whether to plant a small garden or not and the cooky weather here is not helping make it an easy choice. In the past, my dad has always planted a HUGE garden, where he lives out in the country. We spend most of our summers there tending it. He decided to take a break from gardening this year for the first time in a very long time, so we won't have the goodies from his garden this year.

DH is buying Topsy Turvys so we can hang off the deck. We have 2 acres of land and we're going to have our garden hanging around on the deck! Geez-Louise!!!!

I have a small veggie garden with onions, carrots and peas in but need to pick up seed for a few more things - maybe spinach and lettuce. We're not "supposed" to start gardening till the May long weekend in Alberta, but I always chance it and start early.

Just yesterday we planted some tomato, peppers, eggplant, cilantro and parsley. Just a little cause I'm just trying it out. Hopefully I get to eat some of it.

I'm hoping to move this summer, so no gardening for us! Next year, I really really want to have one, now that Katelyn is old enough to help out with it!

I have a perennial flower garden. I love watching it come to life each spring! It's low maintenance too which is nice because I have small kids. I have a few edible plants like chives and sage but not a proper veggie garden. ( I'm in the city.) Good luck to all - wishing you green thumbs! :)

We have a pretty small back yard so a garden patch really isn't possible. We have one small area that we plant our tomatoes and then I do all my other veggies in pots on the patio. We always do a salsa garden, so we have tomatoes, jalepenos, green peppers and cilantro for that. Then this year I also did an eggplant, oregano, basil and yellow banana peppers. I love growing in pots because then when it has a frost danger, we can just pick them up and move them into the garage. :)

Laura, you could plant a few veggies like we do in pots and then if you move, you can just pick them up and move them with you. :)

We did some annuals this week and today were were covering them up because they just announced a freeze tonight! ufffff......

DH has become a bit obsessive abt his garden.

He has already planted or is planning on planting red potatoes, carrots, strawberries, grapes, cilantro, tomatoes, broccoli, onions, orange bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, corn, watermelon, & pumpkin.

He is totally insane.

No garden for me. Too time consuming plus chances are I'd kill it all. No green thumb here. BUT the father-in-law shares his garden goodies with us so I always end up with a bit of squash & TONS of potatoes!!!!

No garden for us.....no green thumbs in our house!!! I would kill a cactus!! LOL

We had talked about planting a garden in the community garden area in our town but honestly it's just too time consuming for our busy lifestyle....with sports we are only home 1-2 times a week and I won't take the full responsibility of a garden...it would have to be a family affair!!

Oh man! I wish we had a community garden area! That would be so cool for the plants that take up more space like pumpkins and corn and stuff!
