What is something you do now that is so different from when you were a teenager or child?

Me? I was up and dressed at 6:30 this morning for no reason. Took my final quiz for my nutrition class before 7.

Who am I? I used to love sleeping in, now I can't even when I have the option.

I was a horribly picky eater as a child/teen/young adult, and I'm way more open to new foods now!

I used to never eat steak or ham because I couldn't stomach the fat on the edges. Now I will eat it, but I still have to cut ALL the fat off. I cannot sit at a table with someone who actually eats the fat. Blurk!

The fat is the best part! I guess I can't have you over for dinner. Lol I eat lots and lots of fat. Actually, hey, that's something that's not different. I've always been a big fan of fat....

Oh ick gag urp! LOL!

One thing I do differently is vacations. As a child we always had a really packed itinerary - up early, museums, activities, shopping, restaurants. And now, just relaxing on the beach really appeals to me. Maybe when my girls get a little older we'll get back to some of those more "educational" vacations. :)

Also, the whole meat/fat conversation got me thinking. As a kid I ate steak well done - now I like it practically mooing.

Hmmmmm.....might want to narrow down my options on how I'm going to answer.

Yep....much older.....not sure about the wiser part though.

Never cared much for veggies and now....love 'em.....well, most of 'em! I think I'm still the same in other areas.

Hmm... we eat out a lot more now than when I was a kid (not necessarily a good thing, although we can afford it more now than my parents could then) .. I read less than I did as a teenager (silly digi habits getting in the way, lol..) I'm also not as punctual IRL or willing to be vulnerable and open-hearted about things.. Geez - I've clearly become a lesser version of myself as I've gotten older.. :(

Ummm everything! Haha The sleeping in thing is a biggie. I used to sleep half the day away and now 8 seems really late to me. I eat a lot of stuff now that I didn't when I was younger (but then and now I am totally with Karen on the fat thing, gag). I'm also wayyyy more out going now than then. I was pretty quiet and shy growing up. Now I am a total extrovert!

Oh - this reminded me.. I'm just the opposite.. Much more outgoing when I was younger.. Now I'm more of a shy homebody..

I'm much more open to new experiences e.g. different foods, places to visit, etc. but much more shy/insecure around strangers. I read less and watch a lot more TV/movies.

I am much less naive/much more jaded.

I do 10x more chores around the house than I did growing up. :giggle

I don't think I've ever seen anyone eat the fat off a piece of meat. I certainly don't. I always cut the fat off, and it never occurred to me that there are people in the world who would just hork it down. #themoreyouknow

While I do eat more veggies than I would as a kid, I would say the biggest change I've made is me being able to be honest with people. As a kid, I was super insecure and always too afraid to say anything that might upset anyone. I was so afraid of people being mad at me that I wouldn't always voice what I should have. Now days, I have to be careful to make sure that when I express what I feel is the right thing, I have to be careful to not be too blunt about it. But I've learned that if I love people, truly love them, sharing what I believe is the right thing to do (even if they don't want to hear it), is more important than how much they like me. Because, if I truly love them, I will be more concerned for them than for myself and my own insecurities.

I thought it was common knowledge that fat is full of flavor.

Might be full of flavor... I'll never know. Just can't do it! People laugh when they see how much I cut off of meat and chicken before I cook it.

When I was a kid, I hated my little sister. She was a brat, always spied on me and all my friends would let her around because she was "so cute" - blech. And I had to take her everywhere with me too. But now, she's my best friend in the world and I don't know what I'd do with out her! :)

I have two younger sisters and I hated them growing up. Now I can't imaging life without them.
