Pad Patter: 4/14 tell me about your furr babies

I have a sheltie named Jedi. My ex didn't want dogs so I got him in 2003 after my divorce. Turns out that when I started looking there was a Sheltie breeder 10 minutes from me AND she had two litters of puppies that could be adopted within a week. He picked me out the second I walked into that room. I was determined to get a girl dog, having had good luck with them as a child, but he would not be dissuaded. He is my baby and absolutely knows it!

I've generally had two cats at a time. I lost Aladdin (who was 19) last year. Our other cat was about 4 ish at the time. Not really sure, we found her outside hiding under a neighbor's car, scrawny and hungry, terrible tiny and scared. My son fell in love with her. She walked into this house and plopped down on her back in front of the window in the sunbeam and fell sound asleep. She has been that comfortable here.

When we lost Aladdin, she was lonely. I adopted a male cat about her age last summer. It took him a long time to get comfortable (I think he may have had a troubled past). He still runs and hides if there are more than about 5 people in the house. Now everyone gets along swimmingly. I can't imagine life without pets. I'm lucky to have them.

Love my fur-babies, here are all three:

lovingly referred to here as grumpy (17), Busy and Pudgy (about 1 year sister and brother). Their real names are Slinky, Mini and Jasper.

I have always had cats in my life and can't imagine a household without them.

We have no fur babies right now, but we still have all the beds on their favorite spots. We missed them so much, but hubby is not ready for more.

I have 2 staffordshire bull terrier dogs, Jambo (means welcome) is almost 12 years old and Buddy is almost 10 years old, they are so loving and great with both of my children with them being autistic.

we also have a lion head cross lop eared bunny called casper.

A male Syrian hamster called Otis

and 2 very funny chinchillas called Elsa and Anna

Here's our Charlie. We were told she's a Jackabee (Jack Russell - Beagle mix). She will be 6 this summer and we've had her since she was about 18 months. She is amazing with our girls and is happiest when they are all running around in the backyard together.

Oh, I so want a dog! I love seeing the pictures of all of the animals.

Ashley, how big is Charlie... and how active for a Jack Russel mix?

y'all make me SO jealous!!!!!!!!!! we used to have LOTS of animals in Brazil but here in a flat...we had a cat , gorgeous cat called Liara, but when we went to South America in 2009, none could look after her and my neighbor who used to do so had died ... :( so we never could have any furries anymore :(

I love my rescue dog Pippi! I always thought of myself as a cat person until we rescued Pippi and now I am a doting mamma to my sweet fur baby!
