Since we technically don't have summer here, I want to know what you have planned for summer, so I can at least feel your excitement.
Are you going on vacation, to the beach, chilling out together?

Vacation! first, we are flying "home" to Seattle for almost 5 weeks, and in that time we are going to DisneyLand!!!! We also want to go camping on the Olympic Peninsula for a few days with the kids (camping in the States is SO different to camping in Germany) and I plan to celebrate the 4th of July BIG TIME as it will be the last chance I have to celebrate it in the U.S. for the next 15 years or so. DD starts school in September and school goes thru July 31st, vacation doesn't start until August 1st, always. so we'll be unable to spend a long summer away until she (and her brother) are done with school. *sniff*

So anyway, Seattle, Anaheim-DisneyLand, Camping, hanging with family, swimming, day-outings and the Mom is flying back to Munich with us to spend 3 weeks with us here, and during that time, I'm not sure what we'll be doing. :) only 21 more days!!

We'll be hanging out here, trying to not kill each other.

Just little outings for the kids, but no trips this year.

No grand plans here either. We have a list of summer activities. My sister and her family are coming for a week (super excited about that!) and then the boys and I are going to go and visit my parents for a few days in July.

enjoy your trip to the states, Amber!

Not a whole lot happening for us this summer but enough to keep us busy:

June 15-17 I'm taking my dad to my grandmothers to meet up with my mom.
June 18-21 I have to attend a technology conference for work
July 4-8 Our yearly camping trip
July 27-28 Camping & bike rally

Oi! Maybe more is going on than I first thought.

Probably the beach, 6 Flags, Mountasia. Some museums (Petersen Car Museum, it's amazing) including the Getty and LACMA and the Tar Pits (again). Hollywood sights and goofy places we've never been to, like Ripley's Believe It or Not (ripoff, but hey, it's something to do). Maybe Las Vegas for a few days for my daughter's birthday (16). Maybe a camping trip, but my car is so-so and I don't want my axel to pop off while we're 200 miles away from home. Hubby doesn't like to camp in a tent, so I can't borrow his car, and he won't drive mine.

The kids have only six weeks this year-they start mid August. I want it busy, but not too busy.

There's lots of stuff I'm hoping we get to do, camping, museums, hikes, lake michigan beaches...but nothing definite planned yet, other than we will spend lots of time at the amusement park.

We are doings lots and lots of camping, swimming, swimming lessons, tae kwon do for the boys. And of course gardening :)

Most years, my dh has been working up in Alaska during the summer, so it was hard to plan a vacation then. This year, he's home on disability...and with a neck brace and not able to walk too much, I'm not sure we'll have big plans. He will hopefully be able to be without the cervical collar at the end of June, so then he would be comfortable going to the beach, zoo, etc...

We have passes to Disneyland, but we have the SoCal select ones, where we are blocked out during the summer months. That's quite alright with me. I hate crowds and wouldn't go if it were really busy anyway. We can go during the fall and winter months.

My boys are also all adults now and all work full or part time, and one is in school as well. We just can't plan family trips anymore.

My husband and I are planning a trip to Seattle in September. I've already purchased my tickets for the King Tut exhibit at the Pacific Science Center. We'll do baseball, football, the zoo, downtown fun things, etc...while we are there. We lived up there years ago, so it's like going home for us!

I'll probably be going in June and maybe August up to my Dad's to visit with him and see my mom (she's in a nursing home). My sil and her kids are close by too, so I always go see them. I'd really like to go river rafting with them this year...we keep trying to plan it but it never happens. I think my niece is old enough now and it would be great fun.

That's about it for me. I hope to get some projects done around the house this year. That's what I really need to do!

How fun... I love hearing what everyone is up to.

Right now we're in the midst of remodeling our basement... it's coming along and I'm crossing my fingers I can get it done in the next couple of weeks. I've got a ton of painting to do, and then the carpet is coming.

DH and I are going to HAWAII! - my first time ever - on June 20 for about five days. I'm so stinking excited I can hardly stand it. Grandma is coming to stay and take care of the kids.
As soon as we get home we're hosting his entire family - parents, three siblings and spouses and all their kids - at our house for a three day family reunion. (Thus the rush to get the basement finished!)
In August we've got a smaller trip (about 4 hours away) to see DH's parents and go to a Shakespearean festival, and immediately after that we have a three day reunion with my family.

My boys are signed up for Dodgeball, science club, a couple of day camps at the nature center... and hopefully I'll get them in swimming lessons soon.

Whew! Should be a fun summer but busy!

We have a couple camping trips planned. During one we will take a day trip over to a Railroad Museum since the 3 boys are train lovers. Our small group takes a weekend away together at our leader's parent's lake house. We have a wedding on the other side of the state in Aug. I'm sure that we'll travel down to Madison to play.
Really, after the super busy past 2 months, I'm not to keen on traveling lots this summer. I want to stay put & get some work done around the house . . . I have plans . . . big plans . . . ;)

Nothing major planned. Hopefully, a couple of family visits, but that's about it. :)

I would love it if we could get the house purged of all the junk we no longer need and be all stramlined before school starts back up in the fall. DS's room is especially overflowing. Don't know how much luck I'll have getting the kids (and DH) (and me to be honest) to spend a chunk of their summer cleaning their rooms though. :giggle
