Okay, so we went to the store and DH is ready to start planting some flowers in the yard and get the garden ready for planting with tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, bell peppers, and other types of peppers.

Do you garden and what are some things that you plant in the way of vegetables?

I would love a big garden, but I suck at maintaining it. (I forget about it for weeks on end lol)

So, I only have tomatoes usually.

Also, we have a lot of deer and rabbits around here. Not sure which of them munches down any kind of squash I plant... grr

Two years ago, I decided to put a little veggie plot in the yard . . . yeah, that didn't work so well. So last year, I decided to do "container gardening" with pots by the front door. That didn't work so well either . . . so this year, I plan to just go to the Farmer's Market a lot!! LOL

Funny that you posted this. DH just now got home from the hardware store with seeds so we can get started!

We're planting: peas, spinach, 2 diff lettuces, 3 kinds of tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, corn, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, squash, zucchini, pumpkins, potatoes, beets, cucumbers, potatoes, onions & jalepenos. We also have a bunch of blueberry bushes (still kinda small) and raspberry plants. I would love to grow garlic, but I've never had much luck with it for some reason. I love starting the garden. Maintaining it is not high on my list of fun things (weeding... ugh!), but it is worth it in the long run.

Love a little garden - we have two raised garden boxes! We have quite a few weeks yet before we can plant here - actually usually not until about Memorial Day in May! We plant some tomato plants, peppers (green & jalapeno), yellow beans, snap peas, zucchini, and we planted strawberry plants last year that will hopefully start producing this year a little! I too hate the weeding, but I LOVE fresh garden stuff, and I will admit - I always feel quite proud when I reap a harvest! I get giddy when my first things start popping up!

Here's a little pic of my garden boxes - fashioned after Pioneer Woman's!

Last summer was the first time I tried gardening and I loved it! I grew tomatoes, cucumbers, red and green bell peppers, eggplant and some herbs. We had a pretty good crop, considering I had no idea what I was doing and that I grew it all in pots! I am not sure if I'm going to plant again this year since I want to move, but I'm not sure when I can make that happen.

This! Except that I tried each of those options for years before deciding this year that enough is enough. We back onto a natural park and I just can't compete with the weeds.

I've tried growing indoor plants and I kill everyone of them (from ferns to herbs to aloe). I do not have a green thumb. A few years ago DD and I planted a small plot of zinnias and they grew amazingly well. I live in an apartment right now so I can't really garden but I'd love to try to grow some herbs and some tomatoes in containers on our balcony, just not sure if we have room with DH's grill setup.
