It's been awhile....what keeps you busy on road trips of more than 5 hours? Not the kids but YOU?!?!??

I can't really read or play on my phone in the car on long trips or I get carsick, so I'm all about the playlist, lol!! My daughter and I like to put together the most annoying playlist we can so we can have fun singing along AND annoy Daddy! I don't usually like to drive, last road trip I got a speeding ticket and that's the first and last time I've driven on a trip in years!

I try to do most of the driving. But when I'm not driving then I watch movies/tv on my tablet or I sleep.

I've almost always done the driving: hubby's usually working, so I'd take the kids. Otherwise, we make stops, eat, take breaks, listen to music, etc. I get carsick if I read.

Satellite radio. And audiobooks. And sightseeing if it's a road trip vacation!

DH does most of the driving so I read or we just chat. And sing. If I'm super tired I might cat nap for a bit.

my hubs love to drive (& i won't argue with that!)... so in the first few hours we all play along in some fun road trip style games (ispy, storycubes & such) and once the boys tire of that and retreat to their own activities the hubs & i just usually chat... unless i fall asleep. car rides make me so super sleepy.

I can't read (carsick) so I just chat w/ my DH, and sleep a lot.

My hubby does most of the driving, so I usually just talk with him for about 13 seconds and then fall asleep. Sometimes if it's a cloudy day I can read in the car, but for some reason if it's sunny, I'll get car sick. I hate that though. I'd love hours of free time to read!

If I am driving, then I listen to audiobooks or podcasts. If my husband is driving, I usually read or scrap on my laptop.

I'd say mostly music and sight-seeing. Or talking to someone. Or just thinking in silence. I don't really need to be entertained I guess.

I don't let him sleep while I'm driving, so in the rare event he actually drives, I don't get to sleep either. LOL. Although, if it's desperate enough that I've asked him to drive, I'm pretty tired, and he doesn't have much say in the matter. ;)

Karen... It's all about the bright blue sky when its sunny... it aggravates motion sickness... which is why I will NEVER ever ever own a blue car again!

Find some brown tone sunnies and it will help some... also giving your tummy something sweet to think about helps tremendously... soft drinks, lollies, icecream... rather than just straight water... sadly reading a normal book is still off though I have had some luck with reading on my kindle for short periods of time...

sounds stupid I know but trust me it works... I get terrible motion sickness in anything other than planes...

Oh and now its me doing the driving which also alleviates my motion sickness... and since I love driving that is a good thing!

That makes so much sense, Cherpea! My motion sickness is so much less since I found a pair of sunglass I love and wear constantly a few years ago!

I hate car trips. Bah.

I read or play games on my Kindle or the iPad or my phone or whatever until it makes me want to puke, then I stop. :rofl For a little bit anyway. I don't drive b/c Eric complains about my driving the whole time. The only time I drive is if he isn't along, or lately when his back is super jacked up and he has to stretch out to be able to manage the pain in the car.
