This spring weather has got me thinking about what I want to plant this year. I almost always do Impatiens because they grow so well and fill out and look so purty, and last all the way til frost again.

But I think I want some variety this year, so tell me what you plant! Bonus points if you have pictures. :giggle

Hmm... I suppose i should be thinking about this too. I usually just get whatever is a pretty color that draws my eye. My sister used to work at a green house and would hook me up with all kinds of amazing plants. I miss that.

I really like gerbera daisies, fuschias (need some shade and lots of water), african daisies, snap dragons, straw flowers, straw flowers,

There's one more too which is my favorite but I cannot for the life of me think of the name of them. I'll post again when my brain starts working again.

I can't grow weeds! lol! But I'm going to have to buckle down and learn this summer because our new house came equipped with a front garden and beauitful built in planters encased by cedar wood... And if that doesn't work out they can become glorified sandboxes for the boys... lol!

Pansies are a great little flower. They are very contrary to their name because they're the hardiest little flower I've ever planted!

My gardens are full of perennials, but I use petunias for fillers and all-summer colour. They are the easiest I think -they love sun and do well in the heat as long as you remember to water them. I like the wave petunias for pots.
Pansies are good as long as you keep dead-heading them - once they go to seed they don't last very long. They do well even with a bit of frost so I usually put those in for some colour before I can plant the rest.

I normally don't do annuals (or other flowers because me iz laaaazy), but I did buy two ranunculus (ranunculi?) plants the other day. They wuz purdy...

Oh, and I'm glad you clarified your subject matter because when I first saw it, I thought I was gonna have to stay away from this thread :giggle
