child abuse/domestic violence .. I really want to organize and push to get some laws changed in my state. They're incredibly lenient when it comes to child abuse issues and it makes me ill.

There are several causes that I support... marriage equality - I am a member of SAGE (Straight Americans for Gay Equality), Wish Upon a Wedding (which grants dream weddings to mainly couples facing terminal illness), American Heart Association, and all things Diabetic:

Since my daughter was diagnosed last June, we have spoken on behalf of JDRF a few times and have advocated for the development of the artificial pancreas - which a few other countries are in the testing stages of completion... the FDA just keeps dragging it's feet in regards to its research...
