oh my mom is an O'Sullivan, and the tunes of the Irish Tenors and long limericks of Biddy McGraw and more were played religiously during March.

We had a full wake for St. Patrick at our house
Corn Beef and Cabbage was made in huge batches!

This is a big day in our house!
What about you?

Do you get into the green??:giggle

with the last name McCabe (and my inlaws 100% born and raised in Ireland, and more than half Irish on my own side) you would think we would be all about the green today. but with teens, honestly ...not so much anymore. we don't eat meat, so corned beef is out. and everyone except me hates cabbage. & i don't like to use food coloring ... but maybe some green smoothies with fresh spinach added in as an after school snack. my kids don't even wear green to school ... they say they don't like the color for clothing. and i can't handle that traditional Irish music.

we are pretty much Erin go Braugh party poppers, huh?

My daughter was greatly disappointed when she woke up and the leprachaunt was not naughty enough.

The elementary school has green dress-up day, and silly me sent my youngest off to school wearing blue. I hope he doesn't get pinched (that's what would happen in my day at school)!

Other than dressing up with a green shirt, we really don't do anything special.

I own like one piece of clothing with green in it, so I wore that today. But celebrating with corned beef and cabbage for supper...doesn't hurt that it's one of my favs anyway :)

here in London (despite the huge Irish community- or maybe because of it) St Patrick's day is a day when pubs get full, people drink a lot more than they should, give horrid shows of their drunkiness in the street and the ambulances & fire men have to work double-
Not much fun for me-
The schools don't even aknowledge it, Sarita was in Catholic school, but I'm quiet sure all other schools do not do anything either- first time I heard of St Patrick's being celebrated other than very cheap beer in the pubs was when I started scrapping.....
At some point one year, I scrapped so many St Patrick's pages.... it put me of completely.
Maybe that's another reason why I'm not all too well ....
