Talk to me about couches. What kind do you have? Sectional or no? Leather or microfiber or what?

We have a big microfiber sectional that I love(d). Then the dog's nails made small holes which my kids turned into ginormous gaps. So, I want a new couch. Dh thinks we should not get one til the kids and dog are no longer a problem but I'm not dealing with a torn up couch for the next 10 years. Haha.

They have a cute one at Costco that has ottomans you can move around to different places. But I don't love the color.

We just have a small loveseat (fabric) in our main family room since hubby and I both sit in recliners. Upstairs we have two fabric couches in the living room. We don't have pets so it's just the kiddo spilling stuff that we have to worry about. :)

Big comfy micro-suede couch! In a chocolate brown color that should blend well with all the freakin' brown in our house! :)

We have a microfiber couch and loveseat. I want a sectional badly but because we move so often and the homes are all set up differently, a sectional may not work right in every home. I definitely want new couches - when the kids are a bit older.

Leather sofa.
It's great because you can just wipe it down when your potty training kiddo has an accident. Or when one of the older two get something sticky all over it after you told them to take their whatever back in the kitchen.

Microfiber couch and loveseat and here too. About 20 years old and badly in need of replacing.

We just have a sofa (canvas) that is in really sad shape and totally needs replacing and we were planning on replacing it this year with our tax return until we decided to do the kitchen remodel instead LOLOL

I have big green comfy couch, which is in storage. :( I miss my couch so much! One of the things I look forward to about moving is getting to sit on it again! My mom has two big not so comfy couches with ugly green covers on them. One of them is an old sofa bed.

Our couch has a chenille like fabric. It was beautiful when we bought it but now the fabric looks terrible. I don't recommend that kind of fabric at all.

I'm with the no fabric crowd. Kids, cats, dog all lead to spots you REALLY want to be able to clean off. Go with cleanable!

We have a ginormous sectional. It was literally the only one we could get to fit in our doors though. We had a lovely microfiber couch delivered, but couldn't get it into the house. LOL. So we ended up with this sectional. It is "pleather" which is fine because it is hard to tell the difference looking at it, and the dogs haven't destroyed it yet. It makes for very easy cleanup which is sooo nice. :D

I have a microfiber sectional that's almost 8 years old. I used to love it, but really want something new. I do have to say, they're really easy to clean, but they show everything, too, so you're cleaning it constantly (or not...and just letting it look all sad and grody). And between my DH and DD wrestling around jumping on it and my big ol' bottom, is so mooshed and flat. Sigh. Yeah, I want a leather sofa and maybe loveseat, too. A little better made, too.

we are moving this summer and getting new couches (woohoo!) - and i'm definitely getting leather! it is just so easy to clean and keep looking nice :) and some of them can last FOREVER - i feel like my parents have had theirs for 20 years or something LOL (they have a chesterfield style - so no cushions to get all smooshy) ... and i like sectionals a lot, so i'll probably look at that first.
