Spring is about yo start here which means sports are about to starts. Bianca had her first hockey practice today. She did amazing!!!!!
Are you, your kids or friend starting a new season?
We just started soccer practice back a few weeks ago. Our first game got cancelled due to the crazy winter weather, but are next scheduled game is this next Saturday. We practice two nights a week and games on Saturday, both boys are on the same team which is a lifesaver. They always have fun and we do too, but it is always nice to get our evenings and weekends back too.
My youngest is supposed to start T-Ball this month. He's really excited… took his first swing with a bat yesterday when we practiced a little outside. I'm out of my element, though. I know nothing about baseball. Add to that, he's a leftie, so I can't really help him with his swing either.
We just finished basketball season and DS has a couple of days left to decide if he is playing baseball or soccer. He is back and forth all the time and may end up doing neither and just waiting on football season to start again.
I promised DD that she could take a 'ballerino' class this year. We are waiting until the baby arrives in the next 6-8 weeks, and then we will sign her up for a class. She is so excited! There's a possibility that we might be moving a ways away, so we're going to wait until next summer to get her signed up for a sport like soccer or softball.
As soon as the snow melts off our fields, we are supposed to start soccer practices for both my boys. We have an indoor practice scheduled for Friday for my oldest, so that begins our springs busy season.
My niece is probably starting a new soccer season - I should probably find out when. I never made it to any of her fall games - and she was on two teams. Bad auntie! I think it's awesome to watch my niece and she's really good - but I just don't like sports much and I get so bored at games!
Ok, so Bianca might be playing defense on her hockey team. The coach put her immediately there, she is the only one in her team that doesn't think about skating backwards. Skating backwards is "natural" for her and we are so happy the coach noticed it in the few mins of practice they had before their "practice game".
I was going to put my kid in soccer but I missed the deadline - last may! I'm thinking of signing him up this may for next year (it's a fall/spring season).
My DD has been swimming all year....well really since June of last year, it's an all year sport for her now. My DS will start tball next month. Then they both do swim and tennis in the summer.
All three girls are playing soccer this spring. So our entire Saturday mornings are at the fields - but it's pretty fun hanging out with the other parents - I only dread the 8:00 games.

You guys just started hockey? Do you play through the spring and summer?
We are just winding down our hockey season that started in September. My oldest son's team won their division and our district's division! It was so awesome! We have one more tournament and that's it for a while. We should be starting soccer in June though and then it will back to hockey.
Just finishing up indoor soccer, played over summer cos outside is way too hot!
Outdoor soccer starts in April so a bit of time left yet. Tennis goes all year round for two of my kids, luckily both on the same days though. My daughter has also signed up for badminton (big trend for all the 17yo girls in her school) but that's after school so no running around for me, she can catch the bus home.
We have sign ups for cheer next month, I think. But no practices until later this summer. Katelyn doesn't like sports where she is alone out in the field, with no one to talk to, LOL! So we never tried baseball after the most torturous soccer season ever! I think Emily will be our ball player but she's got another year or so.
my daughter plays soccer all year round, but the spring season officially started last weekend for her. she's going out for her JR HS team this year as well ... 1st meeting is tonight. my son started Crew in the fall ( a learn to row program for newbies) and loved it so he's on the HS novice team as an 8th grader. it's been going on since Feb ... training for 2.5 hours every day after school. makes getting homework done really fun! ;/ yes, i am officially a taxi come about 2:30-3pm everyday! but i love to see them active and doing things they love.
