Augh.....and DH went with me and then proceeded to tell me I spent too much money! Bwahahahaha

So... Lets just see what WE bought at the store! Cereal for 1, cookies for 1, 2 steaks, some sauce that only 1 of us will eat! As you can clearly tell, somebody only thinks of what they want and that, my friends, is why we spent more money than we needed to!

Do you prefer to go grocery shopping by yourself or does someone go with you?? I prefer by myself but I waited until today and you-know-who had to go! :)

We always spend WAY more when we go together!! My husband loves to spoil though, so he piles in extra junk for everyone. I prefer to go all by myself, but it's usually me and the girls. My husband isn't off very much and I hate to waste our time at the store, lol.

John won't go - he hates the store I shop at. And I will fully admit it's a pretty white-trash store. But they are by far the cheapest in town, AND they have all of the brands of things that I want. We have a certain salsa we like, a certain granola bar, certain this, certain that. This is the only store where I can get them all in one place. But there are times when the people make me want to ram my cart into them. Like today. I fully expect to one day get arrested at the grocery store.

I feel rushed when Tom is with me, only because I like to wander around looking for nothing in particular. When Tom is with me I feel like that's an part of me I should hide. So I probably save money when he's with me. I make more impulse buys alone. Like wine. Haha.

I almost killed the person ahead and behind of me in line today.

If you go through the U-Scan, you should not be spending $250 or using coupons and gift cards. (ahead of me)

You should have the courtesy to wait until the person ahead of you removes their items from the belt before sending yours down (behind me).

I shouldn't be allowed in public.

My husband loves grocery shopping. I think it started as he wanted some control of our budget, and he would keep a running total in his head and predict how much we'd spent when we got to the checkouts. That's hilarious now because we have 3 teenagers and the amount we buy is crazy. Now he goes as much to help me remember it all and get it all to the car as he does to keep an eye on budget. I have noticed that the weeks we go to Walmart, we spend about $150/more than the weeks we go to just the grocery store. Dan's response to that is just to go to the grocery store every week. Doesn't quite work that way. We're still going to need stuff the grocery store doesn't have or marks way up.

I HATE/loathe grocery shopping, but I have to do it by myself cause I go with a list and I have a mental note of things I want to make for dinners and such...plus I like to use coupons when I can and my husband REFUSES to use a coupon LOL!

I prefer to shop by myself. I like to have my list ready, follow the aisles and get out of there! I don't mind going with my sis, because she shops the way I do. She makes fun of me because I am not a fast walker at all, but I power walk when I'm in the supermarket. I don't like taking my mom shopping because she will go up and down every aisle and buy lots of junk we don't need.

We almost always go grocery shopping as a family...I used to always go alone but DH loved to complain that I never bought him the stuff he wants so I was like fine then, we are all going. It works though, we tend to check one another, when one of us wants to buy something that isn't healthy, is overpriced etc. the other one is usually there to point out why it isn't a smart buy. Luckily DD isn't a beggar at the grocery store like I was when I was a kid...she'll ask, I say yes or no, and it's done, and she's actually helpful when we go, she's really good at remembering what we are out of, and knows the store we shop at well enough to go on her own and grab some of what we need when we're in a hurry.

we are the parade of people grocery shopping, two carts laughing! I send kids on missions to get things, then back again if they get wrong! I push cart and have a system! My husband sneaks things in, and gets a thrill when I am confused at price...yeah, I have what it should costs...and then see his jar of nuts or ice cream! lol I figure I spend enough in that store, I should be entertained...so we have fun! lol

My preference is to go alone, but I almost always take my kids. Connor's really helpful with getting any heavy stuff and carrying bags and loading up the car, all the stuff I tend to struggle with because of my fibro.

:funfun You should take a video one day and post it so we can see just how crazy you all are. :giggle

Usually I go alone but if my hubs comes along he always gets junk food, garlic sausage, pop and chocolate bars.

We go together every week, who else is going to help me pack the bags LOL

Recently hubby has had to go on his own a few times, he spends way less, but we end up having to go back within 2 days for stuff he forgot or didn't get enough of LOL

I appreciate the help though!

I send hubby to grocery shop. If I go, I put WAY too much other stuff in the cart...it's better if he goes.

I am usually the one that runs to Sam's/Costco...I will go in for ONE thing and come out spending over $100.

I hate grocery shopping - I absolutely LOATHE it when DH wants to go with me. I have a list and I want to get in an out. He thinks we have to stop and look at everything and brainstorm new recipes. Dude, I barely like cooking what I already know how to make...I don't want to experiment in the kitchen.

I normally have to do it. A lot of times I try to go alone, but there are plenty of times I go with all the kiddos too. My kids know that I don't give in to whining pleas for junk food though so they really aren't bad! They know they are much more likely to get something extra or a snack at home if they are sweet LOL. We definitely spend more money when Chris comes with tho - not that he picks up bad stuff, it is just more stuff.

i MUCH prefer to go it alone. Lucas drives me nuts at the store. he is a get-in-get-out kind of guy. sometimes at the grocery, you just can't do that... the crowds of people alone are enough to make it take longer. it's much less stressful for me when it's just me, and i don't have to worry about "managing" his mood. :giggle
