okay, I just now cut my toenails...
I wear bifocals, so I MUST have my glasses on in order to cut them...:blahblahblah
I know but this is my question?
Do you cut them after shower or bath, or before?
If I do them after, I have to remember where my glasses are laying.
Inquiring Minds want to know...

and for those with adorable pedicures...I am jealous, I have weird strange toenails...and a non existent baby toe, that I put a dot of polish on when I get inspired every 6 months or so to paint them!

Before, if I remember. I usually just do it whenever I remember to do so, though. I feel like I am constantly trimming nails on the kids and that's what usually reminds me to do my own!

I should start a thread on helping me pick my vacation pedi color!

I do it when it comes to my mind, which is at any of weird times. A few days ago, I remembered close to 1 a.m., when I brushed my teeth before going to bed...

After shower since the nails are softer and easier to cut. I also need my bifocals. Tee Hee

Tali, RED is always good for toes and vacation. Have fun.

I agree with red. Or hot pink if it matches your outfits better.

As for the question, is typically in the middle of the night when my toenails catch the blankets. ;)

Usually after showering - actually I just did that today and painted them a bright coral after them being bare all winter long!

I usually do them before simply because I usually shower right before going to bed. Mine are almost always painted - I can't stand naked toenails!! LOL

I (okay....Brett) file them instead of cutting them. Usually once a week before I (okay....Brett) change my toe polish.

I have a wonky baby toenail, too, and we do the same thing!

When I see the toenail trimmers, regardless of its relation to when I have bathed or showered. lol I see them and I go, ooo I should do that. Every time.

My daughter bites her toenails. At what age do little girls realize that's nasty? I'm still waiting.

I have many toenail stories but here's one that isn't too gross. ;) As many of you may know, I live in Europe but I'm American and I only get to fly back to the States every couple of years or so. My mom loves taking me for a pedicure when I do, and it's not something I do otherwise. Last October, I was finally in the States again and I had been looking forward to having a pedicure with Mom *and* my five-year-old... her very first pedi. I mean, I'd been looking forward to this for mooonths. So excited. So Mom decides we'll go on such and such day, and the day before our pedicure, I'm standing in my brother's bedroom while he shows me something on his computer, and then I turn to go and trip on a shoe.

And BREAK. MY. TOE.

Seriously? Who does that? Who breaks their toe by tripping on her brother's shoe? This girl. So obviously the pedi was out. :( We still went and I got a mani but it's not the same. I was super jealous of everyone getting their pedis. *sob* #firstworldproblems

Daughter loved every minute.

I get pedicures. :giggle

Once every 6-8 weeks. Sometimes I'll repaint them myself in between, but not always. I keep them really short or they'll hit my shoes while I run and turn black and I don't want that. If I do cut them, I do it just before getting in the shower.

I get pedicures now otherwise I would have no toenails as I too need bifocals.. I also have the manicures as I cannot paint my own nails and since I have no real "grip" strength I have them done. (good excuse eh? <wink> ) Anyway I would think after the shower or after soaking so the nail is softer. I never had polish on nails because I never had nails lol but now that I do I go every 6-8 weeks too... I get the French so when they start growing out you can't tell from a distance that the nails are in need of being done :)

I make eric cut mine for me.. and then paint them pretty! *L* last time he painted them bright red and took a sharpie and wrote I love you on them..*L* he is a goof

I only get pedicures about every couple of months and do it myself in between. Right now they are electric blue. At this point, I can see them well enough to paint (but that's only because they are in the right range with these progressives) and I figure I'm the only one that cares if the paint job is good enough. Trimming right after a shower or soaking them for my own little private pedicures at home.

I get pedis every 6-8 weeks because I have to. I have terrible in-grow nails in both of my big toes. It is painful! The docs charges $40 because he is a specialist and only cuts the nail, the salon charges $45 and they scrub my feet and paint my nails... so guess which one I am going to pick!

I have those bugger in-growns too on my big toes and so that too is why I go for the pedi... I am with ya Dalis :)

When my doc starts giving me a little massage and accupressure in my feet AND painting my nails I am not paying them $40. LOL!!!

I'm with you, Dalis, lol!
I went to get a pedicure for the first time last year, I think? And oh my. My feet sure needed it. One guy gave me an amazing pressure foot massage once, it was heaven! I hate nail polish on my fingers-it's distracting, I can feel the weight of the polish on my fingers, and this relates to clipping: I clip whenever, but especially when my nails start bothering me, which is often.
