Pad Patter: 2/26 - First movie that pops to your mind.... go!

We keep hearing from Frozen, but it seems very girly.

My son loved it. He's seen it twice at the theater and didn't move the entire time. It's not barbie or tinker bell girly.

If we're talking pure word association, Legends of the Fall was the first thing that popped into my head. And I haven't even seen it. Movies that I could watch over and over: The Wedding Singer, You've Got Mail, Black Hawk Down, Moulin Rouge, Out of Africa.

Oh, and Julie, I totally agree on Hatchi!!

Broken Circle Breakdown. Probably the absolute saddest movie I've seen in a long time. Full on ugly cry mode multiple times while watching. If you like Bluegrass music the soundtrack is a must own though!

I watched it last week and just saw that it's on Amazon prime now.

Johanna - totally agree with you on the weird spellings! And don't even get me started on when people end a word with a "z" instead of an "s".

As for movies - Cool Runnings popped in my head, probably because of the recent Olympics. My oldest son LOVED watching the bobsledding and I was telling him about this movie. I think we need to find a copy and watch it again.

I Am Legend (popped into my mind b/c I just saw "Legend" as a post title in the book section, I think).

I hate this movie. HATE with a passion. My hubby loves it. I leave the room when he watches.

I like it - BUT the book is SO SO different that I have to divorce the two.

okay, so the first movie that popped to mind when i read this (before opening it) was Footloose. Totally random, and I don't think I have ever actually seen the entire movie!

We just watched Runner Runner with Justin Timberlake and Ben Afleck last weekend and it was pretty good. I hadn't even remembered seeing previews of that one anywhere, so I was pleasantly surprised with it. Plus I really like Justin Timberlake in movies although he's done some that are just meh too.

The Piano. LOVED IT!!!! Jane Campion's story of a mute woman married off to a man who lives in the boondocks. Her young daughter (anna paquin won an Oscar for it) is pretty much her interpreter. The scenery is BEAUTIFUL as is the story. Loved it. One bit of advice though. Do NOT watch it if you are working on crafts or anything else since a lot of it is quiet since she doesn't speak. I did that once. DUH!

I LOVE The Piano! I listen the the CD of music all the time. It's seriously one of my favorite soundtracks of all time!

Dirty Dancing, because the radio played "Time of my life" not long ago xx

Love that film!

Nobody puts baby in the corner!

Lincoln... just the first thing that popped :)

Frozen only b/c my DD is singing "Do you wanna build a Snowman?" as I type. Oh, and my 3 sons loved it, too (even the teenagers, but don't tell them I said so, hehe).

I totally LOVED Footloose, esp when it 1st came out. Now that I'm a "grown up" and mother (esp to a slightly rebellious teen), I'm not sure the premise was all that great :giggle

I just finished watching 'Drinking Buddies.' I've never seen two people drink as much beer as Olivia Wilde's & Jake Johnson's characters do in this movie. The ending definitely threw me, but it was an interesting study of people that I have little in common with/don't relate to personally.

Me too!! I'm normally not into classical or piano music but I've been listening to this soundtrack for years.

The movie that came to my mind is "Pulp Fiction" because I was talking about it to my sister yesterday. I couldn't believe that the 22 year old girl that works with me has never seen it (or heard of it). Then I realized she was 2 years old when it came out...

I still think that's the best and sweetest dancing movie of all times!! I've seen it at least 10 times, .... ok maybe more often.

Star Wars. Because it's always in my head. And I was playing Angry Birds Star Wars II last night.

Frozen , cause it is snowing outside and so darn cold.. and I haven't seen it yet.. but waiting for Eric to download it for me.. and caption it.. so I can see it!
