I have a huge BLACK thumb! I just can't seem to keep plants alive in our house. I either don't water enough or too much. I'm taking a plant we got from my father-in-law's funeral to my mom today to see if she can revive this poor plant.

Any one know about house plants and is there a fool-proof plant that I can get?

pothos!

these can be bought small and they are very forgiving.
I do "plant rescue". I have people in the dark of the night, in total shame drop their dying plants at my door step...
I know who they are months later, when they say,
"oh my gawd, is that my plant?" as it flourishes...lol

Oh my I can't even grow outdoor plants! The only thing I have success with is weeds!

Ty came home with a plant from school that he has been growing from seed/bulb we believe it will be a daffodil providing I can keep it alive long enough for flowers to appear!

I have TWO black thumbs and I can keep those pothos alive that Anne posted! Also Umbrella tree/plants are pretty easy to keep alive too.

I always forget to water my poor plants. My sister is a botanist and she just shakes her head when she comes to my house. :)

hihihi I can keep them alive for a long while. Some forever and some short lived! Either too much or too little. But the "new" house has a problem, the sun shines on the front from before lunch so it's hard to keep my front garden and front window plants surviving :( Gonna replant the front with some trustworthy plant friends that I am sure will survive

We have one that looks like the one Anne shared. It was my grandmother's plant - so we must have had it here about 8 years and it's doing great. We just need to remember to water it once in awhile.

My whole house is full of plants, mostly the one that Anne has posted above, they really grow fast for me. My kids say we live in a jungle, even when there friends come over they say the same thing too. :)

I want Anne to come over so she can rescue my plants lol .... I used to have lots of inside plants when we lived in Far North Queensland but thing grow like weeds in the tropics .. here in Brisbane I can't manage to get them to live through Winter (such as it is) ... I gave up years ago and just stick with an outside garden :)

I love plants, but have a really hard time keeping them alive. I have one that I think is like the Umbrella tree that Karen posted. It is living and making new stems, but it's no where near as full looking as that pic above. I've had it maybe a year.

I've tried succulents, but they all die. I think I over water them, so my newest I've really tried to cut back on the water. So far so good.

I had a pretty China doll that started to lose leaves ... I tried to research it - and here's the funny thing: I learned that it could lose leaves for two reasons: watering too much (causes the roots to decay) or watering too little. Opposite things and they both have the same "symptoms!!!!" What's a girl to do?

My husband thinks that we just don't have enough light indoors to support most of the plants.
