Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines?
We don't really celebrate Valentines Day. It was never a big holiday for me. I'd rather random fun nights spontaneously. I don't need gifts on this particular day.

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
After waking, realizing I can go back to sleep for a few minutes and knowing I don't have to get up.

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"
I don't know about instantly. I think my estimate of people take a bit longer than instant. If they are friendly, easy to talk to, positive, honest and respectful, then that would be a start for me thinking they are a good person.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?
Probably looking up people from the TV Show Below Deck. It's mind numbing, and I find it funny! Seeing what they did after the show and then all the drama that followed or didn't. Then continuing on for another person from the show.

1) We also don't celebrate Valentine's Day and I agree as we do exactly as you do Jenn :) Valentine's Day for us is 365 24/7 :)
2) I smell the coffee brewing
3) The vibes they give off and if they look you in the eye.
4) This morning looking for parts for the dishwasher on line.. Ours still works but the coating on the racks has come off in spots.. ummm finally decided if I want that it is cheaper to buy a new dishwasher than buying new racks LOL

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Yes, I always make a "moment" of a moment and take photos for my scrapbooks and because life is worth celebrating. I always got each child a little thoughtful gift.
What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up? Hubby brings me a glass of water and a cup of tea.
What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?" Their genuine smile.
What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole? Decluttering videos.

Great series of questions.

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines?
Nope ... I'm taking my role as The Grinch seriously. All year round!

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
The smell of coffee. Love when Urban get up before me, and I can wake up to the smell of coffee.

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"
Probably sound weird, but I just know. It's like I "smell" if someone's good or not. I've learned to trust my first feeling, I'm always right. Can be really hard when everyone else seems to love a person, and I just feel (s)he is just off somehow. My guess is that, if you grow up with a narcissistic parent, you learn to "smell" what's going on. Or I have a sixth sense.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?
My life is a constant rabbit hole. I get caught up in everything. Last thing I guess is a Norwegian TV show, where they rebuild cabins for people.

Valentines Day generally is not a thing here, and tends to be a personal private thing between couples. Although with the increase in American cultural influences through TV etc more people are observing it.
I heard about galentines for the first time yesterday. One of TJ's flat mates is from California, and she has persuaded them to have a galentines flat dinner. I'm still not entirely sure what that entails. maybe I'll ask TJ tomorrow.

The best thing that can happen within 5 mins of waking is hearing someone say good morning.

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines?
I like to buy my kids, husband, and parents a little something just because. I bought candy boxes for my kids, Sweettarts for my husband, pecan clusters for my mom, and Hershey's kisses for my dad. My mom gives all the grandkids valentines so I like to give her something in return.

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
I realize I don't have to get out of bed!

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"
When they're happy to celebrate others.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?
I always go down the Instagram rabbit hole.

I know Galentines as a celebration of female friends. And it's usually around Valentines, but I don't know if there is a special day for it. It's very informal. My friends use the term, but we don't do anything special. Maybe because we get together to catch up, hang out and have fun a lot anyway, lol!

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines?
When the kiddos were younger, I was good about getting them little treats and usually a little stuffed animal.

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
Realizing that I don't have to get out of bed and the day is free from any plans.

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"
Hmmm. I don't think I recognize anything instantly. I might get a vibe, but I've learned to stop and assess. I'll withhold judgment until I've interacted with the person more.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?
Watching court proceedings in murder trials and then trying to find out who the witnesses are and if they've talked with media. I love to dig around and see what I can find.

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines?
Not a Valentines person at all. I have always told DH that I'd rather have a gas station rose on a random Thursday than a dozen on Valentines Day.

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
Coffee.

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"
Seeing them do something for someone else without being asked.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?
Watching a bunch of TikToks about the train derailment in Ohio

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines? We usually do Chocolate Covered Strawberries or maybe Chocolate Fondue and that is it.
What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up? Realizing I woke up before the alarm and can relax for a few more minutes.
What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?" Watching how they treat wait staff or children that are not theirs
What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbithole? Got sucked into the Alex Jones Sandy Hook Defamation trials this past year- one in Texas where he ended up having to pay 50-ish million dollars to the parents of a 6 year old who was killed, and then another trial in Connecticut where he ended up having to pay 1.3 Billion dollars to the families of 8-10 people killed at Sandy Hook. Alex Jones is the absolute worst.

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines? Not really, although now that I work in a school it's kind of a bigger deal. Today almost everyone wore red and/or pink and there were a lot of valentines given.

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up? feel healthy and energetic and eager to start the day

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?" They look me in the eye and really listen.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole? I can't think of anything other than maybe scrolling too long on Facebook.

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines?
Loosely celebrate - as in get a card, maybe do supper. We did Chinese takeout on the couch today lol

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
Rolling over and seeing it's after 7 am (if I don't have to go to work that day lol)

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"

Kindness to other people, even those in 'lesser' jobs or those that aren't being nice to them (kindness goes a long way!)

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?

I'm researching ideas for an appreciation event at my work, and it went down a weird rabbit hole of kinds of swag we could order lol

Absolutely agree! It's better to get appreciation and love on an ordinary day, when it's totally out of the blue, and not because the calendar tells you to.

We went grocery shopping on Monday on our way home from work, and they sold bouquets (sp?). They were adorable, but I told my husband, I'd get angry if he got me one. They where 299 SEK (about US$29). I'd be offended if he wasted that money on something that will last a couple of days. We can get several meals out of that money.

Yes! This is exactly how I feel about cut flowers, too! I know some who really love them, and I sometimes like having some cut (cheap) flowers around the house in the summer, but the way they inflate the prices around Valentines Day, I am just always thinking about all the other stuff I could do with that money lol.

Looks like we both have very romantic souls. :agree

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines? The hubby and I don't celebrate, but when I was single I used to celebrate in big with my galentines, lol, and my mom used to bake a cake and celebrate our family. Here in Finland literally is "ystävänpäivä", what it means Friendship's day, not Valentine's Day.
What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up? A cup of just boiled black strong coffee
What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?" That loves animals, if a person loves animals for me is a good person, but if loves nature too, for me is a really good person, because it means that is a kind and respectful person.
What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole? I can't remember right now, but I've spent a lot of hours watching youtube movies, tv shows, etc.,

Is Valentines Day one that you celebrate? Or maybe Galentines? Not really. Sometimes a little candy for the kids, but not too much.

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up? A text saying work/school is canceled and I can go back to sleep!

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?" Hmmm... maybe eye contact and a nice smile?

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole? Usually art/craft related searches on Pinterest. Most recently it was pinning ideas of things I want to build related to wood working.

"Celebrate" loosely- like I made some of my popcorn crack (really just white choclate drizzled on popcorn wtih candy) and got the kids some chocolate to melt with strawberries for dessert. But It was a usual Tuesday with work, daughter's softball open gym & son's hockey practice. Hubs & I do try to have a date night somewhere around Valentine's day- but almost NEVER on the actual day- just too busy!

What the best thing that can happen in the first 5 minutes after waking up?
Honestly, stretching my lower back. It feels SO good to stretch! lol

What little thing instantly tells you that a person is "good?"

I think it's not necessarily instant- but how they treat other people- especially the general public. Holding doors, saying please/thank you, just generally being kind & nice.

What was your most recent experience of going down the rabbit hole?

Oh man, I started doing some genealogy & man, talk about a time suck- I pretty much spent ALL day one day not long ago down that rabbit hole. SO fun & interesting though!
