twas the night before Valentine's
and all thru the house
and
we are so excited...my hubby is giving my girls
Promise Rings tomorrow

we aren't big :heartslub day people, but I am actually looking forward to it!

Usually on this day, my hubby and I like to go and sit on a bench at Walmart at 5pm and watch the frightened look on men's faces as they rush in to get something before going home...
delightful!

lol Anne, people watching, I love it!

We don't really do V-day either... but its a nice excuse to go out for dinner (on the day after of course, because the restaurants are all crazy busy on the day of!)

Hahahahaha I used to work for a florist helping out on valentines day and it was so funny how many last minute walk bys we used to get!

Me and hubby no longer "do" valentines but we are popping out to Nandos after school with Ty for dinner - more for him than us xx

Love the promise rings! Saw the pics on FB! Such a sweet idea from Daddy! I had a bangle with "babes" engraved on it when I was younger, my dad's nickname for me ........ Last year we had it melted down with one if Tim's old rings, a pair of my mums earrings and a bracelet of my dads to make a solid bracelet/bangle for Ty when he is a teen xx

the kiddos are out of school tomorrow and Monday, and I am off work with them tomorrow, so we are going to have a valentines date - sleep late, breakfast at their fave restaurant, and the Lego movie matinee. then we will pick up steaks to cook for dinner with Daddy. (this will be my first Valentines day in 5 years that I haven't been helping at my mom's flower shop - she retired in December, and went on vacation this week - lol!)

We don't usually do much for valentines day. I made cute little cards with the boys for their parties at school today, but otherwise we kinda just ignore it.

I saw those rings on FB too... so sweet of Daddy to do that! They will love it I'm sure. :)

It is super cool to do that for your lovelies!

We drove down to our beach place last night... not for a romantic getaway, but to completely replace the kitchen plumbing, cabinets, sink and countertops. :/

This morning on the radio I heard a story that will put Valentine's Day/romance into perspective. A woman called in who shared that her husband had told her to get all dolled up for a special evening out. Of course she was excited and anticipating something wonderful. Instead, he took her to the seedy side of town and to an "adult" store... where his favorite "adult" actress was making an appearance. So here is the wife, in a questionable store full of men (she was the only other woman there), having to meet this "actress". I will always remember this story and never feel bad about Tim not doing anything romantic for me. Because even though he may not be a romantic, at least he isn't an idiot... LOL!!

Little stinkbug has a party at daycare tomorrow, so I will be constructing juice box robots and filling our playdoh stickers tonight as I wait(im)patiently for chat time.

I love, love the rings, Anne. So special!

I love getting gifts and surprises, and my hubby never disappoints on Valentine's Day. :) Can't help it. I love flowers, love dinner out, I love it all. And he always writes super amazing things in the cards he gets me so I look forward to that as well. I suspect something is up for tomorrow night but not sure what - that's my favorite part. ;)

I got him a really nice portable Weber grill for our camper for Christmas, so for Valentine's Day I got him new grilling tools and a cover for it. I made him a card to go with it that says something about being the grill master of my heart and keeping our marriage cooking.

I got the kids a small gift each, and they'll have fun parties at school tomorrow too.

nothing special for us really. hubby teaches (the kids) TKD tomorrow night and after they (get home and) go to bed we're going to order Chinese food, snuggle on the couch and watch a movie or supernatural or something ;)

Anne too funny!

We don't do Valentine's Day (Card company day) but at Christmas I did cut out cookies. My hubby loves my cutout cookies (my Great Grandma's recipe) so while I was doing the Christmas cookies I made a dozen in heart shape and froze them for a small surprise tomorrow.

Oh I hope Valentine's Eve isn't a thing now! LOL We single people have enough problems with VDay!

Hahaha I can totally picture you two looking at all the freaked out men at Walmart :giggle And I am sure your girls will love their rings; I saw the pic on Facebook; they are gorgeous! :)

We don't do anything for Valentine's. I rather he surprise me any other day by doing something nice for me instead that shows he loves me. VD is just for retail to get some extra dough in their pockets.

Haha! No kidding - my hubby isn't the romantic type either but he's not even close to being that stupid! My guy is actually really great at so many things and he gives thoughtful gifts. :)

Anne, the Walmart idea is soooo funny, someday, we'll totally have to do that! LOL

Probably a lot of nothing special here tomorrow since I didn't get any Valentine's shopping done before we got a fresh 14" of snow last night and today. DD is stuck at her dad's house and the oldest is an EMT, working around the clock. I'll have to see what I can come up with that is already here in the house haha and I'm sure it's the same for DH...he never shops til last minute and his car isn't going any where.

Oh that's bad!

DH and I got married on Valentine's Day (super cheesy, I know) so it's also our anniversary. This year we're just doing dinner out and I picked him up a really nice tie. He never lets on as to what he's gotten me ahead of time.

We don't do much. We'll have a steak, prawns and baked potato dinner and watch a movie. Quiet but fun night together.
