Have you had them? What kind?

I've never had anything too terrible happen to me. I broke a toe (4th) once falling down the stairs. Stitches a couple times (always from my own stupidity). And of course some running/soccer related stuff like a torn calf muscle, sprained ankle, plantar fasciitis, that sort of thing.

I'm definitely the most accident prone in the house. Or maybe just the biggest risk taker. Either way, I'm the only one the doctor at urgent care recognizes. :giggle

Just a few stitches here and there for me. I'm not allowed around sharp objects anymore

I have torn ligaments/sprained my ankle several times (finally having surgery after 25 years to repair the damage from the first injury)
severely hurt my elbow after diving for a volleyball...it still gives me issues after 10 years
had to have my head glued back together after hitting it on our dining room light and knocking myself out
broke my small toe when I was pregnant with #3
got kicked in the shin while playing soccer and my foot/leg swelled and bruised for months afterwards
was in a roller blade accident about 20 years ago~ wiped out going pretty fast...messed up my neck and I still have issues with it

I am an accident waiting to happen but have only gone to the ER twice with all of that. I usually just lived with the pain until I could see my regular doctor.

As a child I broke my right arm twice (one falling off the table, one roller skating), and my left arm once (roller skating). Aside from that, a sprain here and there, but nothing major where I've needed to go to the hospital or even the doctor usually. I'm normally one to suffer through it instead of going to the doctor.

As clumsy as I am, most of my injuries haven't been bad enough for me to seek medical attention. :)

I slammed my finger in the door when I was 5. I was ****ed that my mom wanted me to wear a stocking hat. :rofl That required a trip to the ER and the removal of half my finger nail, and a few stitches.

When I was 7 or 8 I sprained an ankle.

Those are the only ones that required a doctor visit, although in November I cut my thumbs pretty deeply and should have had stitches. They are actually both really painful in the spot I cut them and I can feel scar tissue. (I cut them with an apple slicer) :rolf

The only major injury that I've suffered as an adult was that I started having shoulder pains mysteriously a few years back...I had to go though PT, and then finally get a cortisone shot. With as much pain as I was in everyone thought that it was from a car accident, but nothing had happened to me around that time. It still flares up from time to time, but nothing compared to the pain that I suffered before the shot.

As a kid I was the one that my mom kept having to take to the ER. I had stitches 3 times, I had a tick latch on to my eyeball, and when I was in grade school we had a big overstuffed chair that had oak legs. I somehow managed to get a splinter from that chair that lodged itself way up under my toenail. I remember mom being told that I was going to have to have surgery to remove it, but she finally found a doctor with a pair of tweezers that was able to remove it...I do remember that it hurt like the dickens, though.

Luckily I've never broken a bone...honestly with as much of a klutz that I am, that's pretty amazing.

I had my first (and only) broken bone when I was 25. I fell down a flight of stairs and broke my pinky toe. I had an air cast and everything, but no surgery, thank goodness!

That's it, really. The only two times I've ever been admitted to the hospital were when I was born and when my DD was.

She has yet to do anything major like that, either. Knock on wood!

Uh... yeah. I was (am) a major clutz! I broke my collar bone twice and my wrist all before 7th grade. I had stitches once too. Graceful is NOT my middle name.

I have only broken one bone in my body, but it was a good one. I broke my neck (C2) in a car accident when I was 14. Thankfully most of my spinal cord issues where due to swelling and pressure vs. actual damage. I pretty much fully recovered after quite a stint in the hospital and outpatient therapy. My only major lingering issue is that I don't feel hot, cold or pain on my right side.

Oh my how long have you got?

Since age 11 (and I'm 34 now) I have had tons of injuries!

I'm too scared to actually list them all LOL

My latest was my fall in the snow a few weeks back, I'm waiting for an MRI to see what damage I have done to my knee

I broke my first bone (big toe) this past October and that was also my only surgery outside of my c-section. I think I'd rather break an arm than break a toe again, it threw a real wrench into everyday activities. I got banged up pretty badly in a car accident when I was 16, wrapped my car around a tree. I was wearing a seatbelt so only cuts and bruises.

I guess I had stitches when I was a baby after my sister whipped a clog at my head and tore my forehead open - but I obviously don't remember that. I just like to bring it up so everyone can know what a jerk my sister was. Haha.

I am pretty clumsy so I'm always bruising something or falling down and scrapping my knees. They have lots of scars to show it!
I had a series of bad sprains when I was 12-13 that put an end to my dancing school days. And I had a pretty bad experience as a kid at Six Flags - I fell on pavement, tore open my elbow and got lost! It was awful!

Haven't broken anything though - knock wood!

I'm always always hurting myself.. it's dangerous now :p
nothing super scary that I can remember.. some bad burns, broken ribs.. hand.. i am pretty sure i've sprained my ankle and dislocated my knee about 900000000000000000000000 times in my life.

I've sprained my ankle a couple of times. It's a wonder that that's all I've done though, because I am a real klutz!

I've broken the little toe on my left foot so many times (think 10 or 12) that it doesn't take much anymore to do it. I did a 60 mile breast cancer walk about 9 years ago and ended up really hurting my foot, plantar stuff. Took a long time to heal. I did the walk again and hurt my foot and my knee. I'm done with all that now. Sometimes, my ankle just twists and I fall scraping myself all up. I am such a klutz!

I have never broken a bone or had stitches in my life ...YET!!!! but I did have a pretty bad fall in the lab when I was 25 and busted my knees up....I didn't have to have surgery or anything, but I think I injured them enough that as I get older, they hurt more :(

Tracie - I gulped when I read yours; glad you are relatively ok...yikes. I've been accident prone since childhood. Some of my injuries including a deviated septum from a baseball incident, sprained both thumbs within a wk of each other, broken fingers and toes, broke my big twice in a wkend (in one spot on Fri and then in another spot on Sat), whiplash, back injury, almost cut my finger off, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tear and fractured arm. Funny thing is tho....because of the fractured arm I couldn't paper scrap for months as I healed so I learned digi scrapping with one hand on my laptop :) Now I love digi scrapping!

Wow, out of ALL the stuff listed here, I think the eyeball tick grossed me out the most!

In 9th grade, our PE teacher had our class play soccer (football to everyone not of the USA) on the longish wet morning grass. I slipped & ended up having a small bone in my right wrist broken. The first doc who set it didn't fix it, so I ended up having that teeny bone REbroken, and one long screw drilled thru my right hand, and another through my elbow by a specialist.

Next, after college, I tried leg pressing 400 lbs. Something happened to my right knee, and 30 years later, it still hurts like heck if I don't use that leg or do squats. Or something.

Lastly, back in June I did a kettlebell DVD and zorched my left hip joint, the muscles around it, and it took four months for the pain to go away. The docs told me the ball in joint had spurs on it, and mild arthritis.

And that's it. Oh, wait! A couple of years after that right wrist was broken, I got in between two of our large dogs as they fought and I ended up with some impressive tooth marks from my favorite dog on that same wrist. Good times!

I don't talk about this much, most of my online friends have no clue about this, but ten years ago I had a severe motorbike crash, and I was pretty damaged. My leg was smashed, my left arm was broken and I lost the movement and sensibility on my arm.

I've been through about 20 surgeries to heal all this mess, I had an external fixator on both leg and left arm, had some skin graft on my leg, a bone graft on my arm....
it was a long way to my recovery, I spent a few years on a wheel chair, I had to learn to walk again on painful physiotherapy sessions. And some other horrible hospital related things...LOL!!!

Now, I'm much better, I can walk, I'm working, life goes on, you know? but it was on this time that I started digiscrapping, as I couldn't move a lot, and my PC was my best friend! lol!!!

...and...I'm clumsy, so I'm always geting hurt!!
