I know here in the USA is the eggnog. No offense, but I don't like it. In Puerto Rico we have our own version of "eggnog" without eggs and with coconut. Think of it as a "Tres leches" drink but with coconut milk! YUMMY OH!

So tell me what is your favorite holiday drink. It can be non-alcoholic or alcoholic. I don't judge either way. :giggle

Here, the standard is mulled wine, called gløgg. It's ok, I guess, but I prefer just regular wine. It does smell nice and Christmassy, though. I'd actually never had egg nog until last year when I decided to try making a recipe off Pinterest. Growing up, the idea of drinking eggs just repelled me so I never tried it. I liked what I made ok, but I don't feel like I need it or anything.

Now, it's not specific to Christmas, but more any party, holiday, or special occasion: snaps. You may know it as aquavit. I don't go to many big parties that aren't Christmas related so I kind of think of it as a Christmas drink. lol And I love it! I also love hot chocolate, alcoholic or not. I mean, it's chocolate! Mmmmm

Oh, Molly, I gotta try that! Bourbon and ginger ale is already one of my faves.

We have spiced hot apple cider for most winter holidays. Though I do love it when my best friend makes coquito...

At Christmas my mom and I make Snowballs--Sprite and Advocaat. Nice and fluffy, go down easy. :)

Wassail - our church always serves it at the Christmas Eve midnight service - and it is so good. I found this description of it. I look forward to it every year, and my sister has mastered the making of it now, so I get to enjoy it every now and again with them! And as an FYI - we have never seen it with the toast that they speak of below.

Wassail the beverage is a hot, mulled punch often associated with Yuletide. Historically, the drink was a mulled cider made with sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg and topped with slices of toast. Modern recipes begin with a base of wine, fruit juice, or mulled ale, sometimes with brandy or sherry added. Apples or oranges are often added to the mix. While the beverage typically served as "wassail" at modern holiday feasts with a medieval theme most closely resembles mulled cider, historical wassail drinks were completely different, more likely to be mulled beer or mead. Sugar, ale, ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon would be placed in a bowl, heated, and topped with slices of toast as sops.

OMG, these all sound delish! I am checking out Molly's board, so many options!

it's too hot here to drink anything like those mulled wines - and i can't say the eggnog i tried once was appealing, the complete opposite to me really. we aren't big on drinking anyway - iced water or chilled punch with some combo of fruit, juice and lemonade is pretty much it for us, with lots of ice! (oh and cold coffee - not iced with like cream on top but just coffee left to go cold and served with cold milk on ice  )
