Do you use them? Carry balances? Hate them?

We have a few. I try not to use them unless it's a store "free financing" thing, because then... why not! We don't have too much outstanding, but we used to have a bit more. I've been working on it. :)

We cancelled our big credit cards and have almost paid them off. It's WONDERFUL!!!!! Sadly, we still have the hubby's Lowes card which is bad & I have a tiny department store one with practically no balance.

We have one main one, that we put stuff on throughout the month, but have NEVER carried a balance on it our whole married lives - we are very disciplined to pay it off every month! And very fortunate/blessed enough to be able to! I can't stand it when stores offer me a credit card because generally they say it is to save you money, all the while knowing it generally does not save people money because they end up paying more after interest and all that. Anyway - I am not against credit cards, but generally speaking it is difficult to use them correctly! We try to pay cash and save up for big things, so generally it is just gas, groceries, and a few bills that auto pay on it each month.

I have one I only use when I'm in the States. They're very rare here. Everyone has debit cards instead.

We are heavily in debt....ugh. In a few yrs we will sell our home and then pay off the credit. We don't use them often now and the goal is to pay off and not use them anymore unless it is an emergency. No complaints...credit has helped us here and there and I'm thankful but I'll be more thankful when they get paid off some day.

We have two, our main one and one with a much smaller limit I use for internet purchases and when we travel. We have currently paid them both off (yay) but that doesn't happen every month..

my hubby and I each have a credit card that gives us cash back for every purchase, so we figure why not. We have never paid a cent of interest since we pay them off each month. I spend less if I don't have cash in my pocket. I spend cash and it's gone and I can never remember where I spent it! With my credit card statement I know where every penny went. :)

I have a few - I've gotten my balances down to the lowest amounts ever recently so I'm pretty proud of myself. I was way over my head in debt a few years ago and had to go through consolidation and move in with my mom to pay it all off. Just when I'm about to get things paid off, it seems something always goes wrong with my computer or car, so it's hard to get them all paid off.

I've always been a very conservative saver vs spender. I was lucky enough to marry another conservative accountant so we didn't carry credit card balances then. It was tough after my divorce to never get in that position but I worked hard at it. I have a credit card that I use for everything, it has hotel points so when I visit my daughter at college I never pay for a room. We used for a vacation once, too. But I pay that sucker off every month! That's been my main advice to my kids, to never carry a balance unless you absolutely have to and to never pay late.

I don't have a credit card. And I'm SO grateful for the invention of PayPal....

my DH and i each have credit cards - i use my am ex for almost all my purchases b/c i get starwood points with it and we use those for free hotel rooms for vacations. i also have a target visa that i use there (5% off) and when i can't use my am ex. we pay off all CC balances each month - i've never paid any interest on a credit card -- i just consider it a debit card and only spend what we have.

last year, I imposed a Self Austerity program,
cancelled all cards, paid off all bills
whew :)
I do have one card, issued from my small local bank
that I keep for emergencies, car rentals etc
but there is a $0 balance lol

We have one that we earn points on that give us cash back or other rewards, but we pay it off every month too. I have a couple of store cards for discounts, but we are careful to always pay them off each month as well and just use the benefit of them.

I don't have credit cards coz I don't want to be in debt. I have 3 debit cards, 2 of which I actively use and the other 1 is for emergencies (and has lots of fund in it).

We have just one that we use for the points, but have never carried a balance, thank goodness. I can see how it could happen, though!

We also have one that we use for just about everything because of the points, but we pay it off.

I don't do CC's. I got myself in trouble when I was younger and won't do that again... I only use a pre-paid debit card. Works for what I need it for!
