Do you donate to any charities? Do you give your old clothes/household items to charity? If so, which?

I usually just drop my stuff at Goodwill because it's easy, but really I should probably look for somewhere better.

Goodwill has big drop boxes near me so that's where a lot of our clothes go. Books go to the Senior Center and unused art supplies we take to the nursing home.

I sponsor a child through World Vision also.

We have a local company that is similar to Goodwill in terms of a thrift store, but they support the developmentally disabled and teach them work skills, so we usually donate our stuff there

If I come across your fundraiser in my Facebook feed, I'm likely to click on it and donate a few bucks. I am sucker for that kind of thing and I like how the internet has made it easy to support my friends & their kids and their causes. I donate monthly to a local animal shelter - our pups are rescues. And I recently bought some toys for Toys for Tots and for a gift collection at my sister's school. That's my favorite kind of giving!

We give our old clothes to Salvation Army - because that's what's closest.

If I pass someone selling raffle tickets or a collection tin I will usually contribute to the course

I take stuff to the local thrift all the time. It's run by Church of Denmark and the proceeds go to help people in Sudan, iirc. I mostly go there because I can walk there.

We take our stuff to Goodwill, just because it's closest and easiest. I need to find a better place, though. We donate to Toys for Tots at Christmas…. it's good for our boys because they pick out the toy and then drop it off themselves.

Goodwill or Salvation Army gets the old clothes & stuff. Wish I could donate $ to charity but there are some months I squeak by myself. Hubby & I were talking that if we won a big lottery we'd start a business that would give all the time.

I usually have amvets pick up my donations...and I can't seem to pass up on children's charities ie: st. jude hospital and starlight foundation

We def take old clothes (that are nice enough still) to Goodwill or Salvation Army. We also give each month to a local missionary who started an orphanage in Malawi Africa. She has since adopted two boys who are brothers from there and it feels good to give to an organization that I know will use each cent properly. :)

Goodwill gets a lot of our clothes. Toys and baby/toddler items sometimes are donated to a local women's and children's shelter - just depended on what they are accepting at the time. We've also given furniture and household items to a local organization that collects these items for people who are in need. Our library gets our books - they have a book sale fundraiser twice a year. We also once did a tag sale where people took what they wanted and in lieu of paying for the items we asked they consider dropping a donation in a bucket for our our relay for life team (american cancer society). We raised $1100 at this tag sale!

Goodwill gets all of our old clothes if there is no one at church who needs anything.
Furniture and household items go to church because we always have a list of community members who need something.
Books go to the library for their used book sale
We donate to Food for the Poor and The American Cancer Society too.
Toys for Tots is a Christmas favorite here too.

I freecycle a lot of our things... clothes usually go to friends who have kids smaller than ours. I've even packed a (big) suitcase full of clothing for a friends daughter back home :)

I love freecycling tho. I give *way* more than I take. It's a good way to clean up, yet give to somebody else in need :)

Although, I did give some clothing to a friend once, then she turned around and listed it with a bunch of other clothing on FB for sale. I was kinda hurt. But I guess I gave them to her, so she can do whatever she wants with them.

Since I work at a high school, the kids are always running various causes throughout the year - food drive for local food bank, Giving Tree (Xmas gifts for children in difficult family circumstances), Good Will Drives, Valentines for Veterans, Dress Down Days to support local charities etc. It's nice because I have easy access to variety of opportunities. I also like to donate to an animal shelter or ASPCA yearly.

We have a place that will come to your house and pick up stuff off of your porch, so the lazy person I am, that is where we donate a lot of things. We've been doing a couple of bags of things a month (and still have too much crap).

Aside from decluttering the hoard, I donate to some political things at times, food drives, a small amount to the NaNoWriMo group, some animal causes, other random things that friends request or something tragic happens, and Tim works with a lot of homeless/low-income housing orgs, so a chunk of money always goes to those fundraisers he has to attend for work. Not big $, but a little here and there throughout the year. We also end up helping out family members off and on. I would love to have lots of money and really be into philanthropy, but I've yet to hit the big time. :D
